Caught in a rabbit hole, Wook and Mu-deok use the “we’re in love” card to free the latter from a murder accusation in the 15th episode of Alchemy of Souls.
Master Lee also gives the Queen a scare by announcing he is watching hers and Jin Mu’s moves. Additionally, So-yi is all set to pretend Jin Bo-yeon and enter Jin family soon.

Alchemy of Souls Episode 15 Highlights
Tensions arose in the previous chapter of Alchemy of Souls. As Master Lee visits the royal family at the palace, he gave a shocking revelation. Mu-deok who was trying to decipher clues about her life ends up witnessing a crime.
“Mu-deok is hiding something that must not be revealed.”
Apparently, Jin Mu had his right hand accompany So-yi to kill people who would recognize her. Even when Wook made extra precautions to pay the broker who brought Mu-deok from Sari village; Master Park met him in the process of doing a background check on Mu-deok.
Mu-deok seeks the head gisaeng to probe deeper and arrives at the conclusion that people who met So-yi are all dying. Master Park goes to the Jang’s residence and relays to Maidservant Kim how Mu-deok was involved in strange death cases.
At the palace, the Queen alerts Jin Mu of her situation as bringing the dog gwigu will reveal her true identity. Tasked by Master Lee to usher the dog gwigu, Wook figures out how the palace is housing a few soul shifters.
Jin Mu orders his men to stop Wook and the dog from entering the hall. He also attempts to fight Master Lee who easily subdued him without much effort.
Master Lee reassures the King not to worry too much as people with ill intentions to use the ice stone can be stopped by the existence of the person born under the King’s star.
Mu-deok asked Maidservant Kim a favor to visit Jin family. She also bumps into So-yi who confirmed her suspicion that Mu-deok does not recognize her.
However, when she was asked by Cho-yeon to stay inside her sister’s room, she got a headache surge and she uses Bu-yeon’s eye cloth to cover her eyes which help eases the pain.
Momentarily, Lady Jin saw a familiar vision, but when she realizes what’s going on, she slaps Mu-deok for using Bu-yeon’s thing.
“Do not put everything on the line for something as fickle as love.”
So-yi’s preparations to enter Jin family are finally complete. Unknown to her the worm carrying Jin family’s blood is also designed to kill her if she betrays Jin Mu.
News of Mu-deok’s involvement in murders reaches Dang-gu and Yul. The former convinces Cho-yeon to bear witness that Mu-deok did not kill those men.
With evidence and witness testimony; Master Park absolves Mu-deok. But he personally goes for a separate questioning. If Mu-deok and Wook do not match their responses, both will suffer the consequences of lying.
Perfectly in sync, they use an all-kill move to stop Master Park from prying. Confessing they love each other and similarly showing the jade stones they both have, they were freed from confinement.
Meeting at the bridge, they conclude they said the same thing. When Mu-deok slips that she mentioned “loving him to death” – Wook was amused. Putting him back to reality, Mu-deok tells him to always choose life over love when he will confront such a predicament.
However, Wook insists that he will take it all the way with her so just like what she told Master Park, she should love him to death.
Alchemy of Souls Episode 15 Musings
Prince Won hopefully sticks to the right side until the end when Alchemy of Souls reaches its culminating point. We hope for his contribution to capturing the anomaly happening right under his nose.
Yul’s plan of taking Mu-deok away is shaping up clearly. Something that might cause a rift between him and Wook.
Master Lee’s enlightening message about the stigma of soul shifters being chaos-perpetrators gives us hope that he will be on Mu-deok’s side when the worst scenario happens.
His story implies limitless possibilities about soul-shifting as described by how his student accidentally burned his body so he ended up inside a new one when he’s not actually dead. This raises feasible scenarios for Mu-deok and Naksu’s situation which is still a bit vague.
Inevitably, more answers will be unleashed down the last four episodes of the series. This episode also revealed that Cho-yeon and Bo-yeon do not share the same father.
Thankfully, Master Park’s slowness in terms of a romantic relationship does not apply to affairs involving Songrim’s safety. He is on the right lead about So-yi and his recent knowledge of Lady Jin’s interaction with her half-brother would lead him well.
