Blind Episode 8 Highlights

“So what if that’s unscientific and illogical? All that matters is that I catch the culprit.”

Numbers 11 and 13 beg for their lives to be saved. Instead of saving the children, Kyung-ja warns the men to kill the child with vicious eyes.

The police put on an APB for An Tae-ho after being spotted in the CCTV footage near the bride’s chamber.

Sung-jun asks his brother if it’s him whom he saw at the wedding venue, but Sung-hoon denies being present that day. Easily convinced, Sung-jun believes his brother, who avoids reunions and such events.

Falling into an argument about logical investigation methods, Sung-jun and Sung-hoon get scolded by Eun-ki.

Sung-jun decides to track Manager An through Detective Kim’s tip, but Sung-hoon confiscates the motor’s keys from Sung-jun. Instead, they track down Manager An’s past addresses together while Eun-ki alone also tracks his oldest ones.

Taking a break, Sung-hoon asks Sung-jun if he’s taking things lightly. Recalling his happy moments, Sung-jun tells Sung-hoon he appreciates eating with him even though he cooked salty ramyeon in the past.

“That was the only time I ever felt happy. When I sat across from you and we ate together.”

Pretending to be a friend of An Tae-ho, Sung-hoon listens to the story of the woman he saw in Manager An’s pictures on his wall.

He hears how Manager An saved the woman while she was still pregnant, causing him to limp. Moreover, he also built shelter houses for single women.

Seeing the child in a familiar spot in the playground like in his blurry memories, Sung-jun rushes to take the child down even before falling.

Eun-ki searches Manager An’s past addresses and sees that one address cannot be found.

Chief Yeom scolds Mr. Baek for losing An Tae-ho. Hearing that another murder occurred, Mr. Baek remembers a man called Mr. Kang that was a supplier at Hope welfare center.

Preventing Yu-na to go to the center, Eun-ki suddenly leaves her at the hospital after hearing that Detective Kang is coming to the center. Yu-na follows her, and sees Sung-jun and later Sung-hoon. She insists on joining them in exchange for her silence.

“The law and principles? There’s no judge who actually cares about that stuff.”

Detective Kang barges into the center, only to see Eun-ki, Yu-na, and Sung-hoon in a mentor-mentee class. He fails to see Sung-jun, and Eun-ki reasons out calling Detective Kim since they are dating.

Yu-na follows Sung-hoon, and he receives a seeming spam message where the link spells An Tae-ho to be saved. After giving their statement about the wedding, the remaining jurors gather together and receive the same text message. Sung-jun also receives the same text message.

Mr. Bae, the reporter, draws the connection of the murders by stating women’s mouths were ripped. Eun-ki clicks the link, and sees An Tae-ho, who waited for Yoon-jae recently, being tortured with a timer in the background.

The police track the IP address, but only sees an empty seat at the internet cafe.

Every hour, the noose goes up, and Sung-hoon compares the situation to a game. Figuring out where Manager An is, they hear a familiar sound, and Sung-jun recalls the similar clock sound at Mr. Choi’s.

“No matter how hard I try to run, I can never get away from it.”

Following his instinct, Sung-jun and Eun-ki rush to Mr. Choi’s place but only see a hanging mannequin. Meanwhile, the police track where Manager An’s phone was last detected. In there, they see bones with a necklace. Gathered with other jurors, In-seong ignores his phone.

As the noose goes up, An Tae-ho apologizes to Yoon-jae for squealing their plans of escaping not knowing number 24 will actually die. Adding to his apologies, he calls out numbers 11, 12, and 24.

Seeing the walls, the black curtains fall off. The jurors see what’s written on the wall which reads, “Someone’s in here. 11, 12, 13. Help us.”

Familiar with what he has seen, Mr. Bae revisits his tapes on Hope welfare center and cries in fear.

Showing himself to his parents, Sung-jun urgently asks his mom about the details of his adoption but hears no answers. He then receives from Eun-ki the address of the place and leaves his mom with his father who’s in disbelief.

Arriving at Hope welfare center, Sung-jun endures his painful headaches, ignoring calls from Sung-hoon who is being tailed by Mr. Baek’s men.

Entering the place, Sung-jun follows a man dressed in a black poncho, but passes out after being injected. At the same time, time runs out for An Tae-ho.

Blind Episode 8 Musings

Summarizing what has happened so far, everything started with the murder of Baek Ji-eun, the daughter of Mr. Baek, the ‘crazy dog’ from Hope welfare center. The following victims are Ms. Yeom daughter of Chief Yeom, and Mr. Choi, who are both involved in torturing children in the past.

Adding to that, Mr. Kang and his daughter are killed recently, revealing that Mr. Kang was a dishonest supplier at the center. An Tae-ho, number 7, also gets killed after betraying the group in their escape.

Much of the hints point that the trial is filled with people related to Hope Welfare Center. Kyung-ja is the woman who ignored the children in the forest, and also Mr. Bae who possibly kept silent about the welfare center.

Of the jurors’ past not yet confirmed as being related to the center are Charles, In-seong, and Eun-ki. However, In-seong appears to have the highest probability of devising such complex torture equipment since he is in engineering industry.

Yoon-jae is pointed as the head of all the murders, but this episode shows Sung-jun passing out while trying to save An Tae-ho. There are still a lot of questions to be answered in the remaining episodes on how he is being framed, and if Sung-hoon, In-seong, or another character is behind the murders.
