Castaway Diva Episodes 9 and 10 Highlights

Last week in Castaway Diva Bo-geol proceeds to confront his fear by going to where his father lives. Out of rage, Ran-ju also tells Mok-ha that she’s giving up on getting the sales to claim RJ Entertainment.

Ran-ju also asserts the reality to Mok-ja and gives her time to process her priorities.

Picking the company to start her career, she proceeds with RJ Entertainment and prepares for the artist showcase.

Asked to select a song from the company’s archive, she chooses a composition that Mo-rae’s manager Young-gwan originally did. It turns out that Young-gwan previously wanted to sing and was supported by Ran-ju. However, it did not go well with him.

Finding Mok-ha asleep working on the song for the showcase, Bo-geol asked Ran-ju for some help. In reality, as a mentor, Ran-ju wants Mok-ha to toughen up and understand that reaching for her dream warrants her to focus on herself.

As expected, on the showcase day, she impressed the investors. Betting her effort anew to Mok-ha, Ranju relents to Seo-jun’s ultimate wish but makes a stipulation that she will be managing Mok-ha.

“Your father does not deserve anything. He does not deserve punishment. He does not deserve to be happy. He does not deserve anything.”

Unfortunately, Bo-geol’s family situation escalates to a point of no return. His father locates their place and causes a ruckus. Woo-hak almost harmed his father if not for Mok-ha’s pleading.

Their stepfather has already confessed to their family stealing another family’s identity to escape the abusive father of Bo-geol and Woo-hak. The scandal brings true colors of people who truly cares for the family.

Later, Mok-ha gives Bo-geol a pep talk about how he does not need to feel anything for his father anymore. She deems no transformation can change his father who is utterly evil.

Officially offering Mok-ha another shot of working with Ran-ju and her singer dream, Ran-ju presents a condition that she has to let go of Kang brothers and their family as she embarks on her career.

Opting to take her last chance, she sets off but while walking she sees the shoes Bo-geol gifted her and returns for the old pair her friend gave her. He then brings her to a new place of her own which he prepared when they found her.

Understanding her choice, Bo-geol comforts her and reassures her woes. He later tells the family and his stepfather understands it is for the better.

Proceeding as planned for Mok-ha’s debut, another scandal erupted revealing Ran-ju and Mok-ha’s ghost singing. The latter encourages her mentor to not sacrifice herself because of her scheduled debut as she can fend for herself.

At that same moment, Kang family decided to do the prosecutor’s request to cross-examine them. And Bo-geol’s friend who was harmed by his father also regains consciousness in the hospital.

Castaway Diva Episodes 9 and 10 Musings

This week’s episode of Castaway Diva shows another treasure trove of ruminative moments about career, life choices and calculating risks. Lessons about orchestrating your life on your own terms have become staple encouraging messages in this drama.

Mok-ha confronts the reality that aspiring for her dream requires sacrificing her relationship with Kang family who helped her a lot. It rings a painful lesson that success most of the time puts you in a situation to focus on yourself first.

Ran-ju’s foresight in motivating Mok-ha to be emotionally strong supports this idea. Often, in the process of being kind and compassionate, we are fulfilling other people’s needs than our own.

The scene where Mok-ha reassures Bo-geol of not feeling guilty about what he can’t do for his biological father leaves a lesson in cutting ties. Because as soon as we hesitate, we will forever be haunted and even conditioned to feel that we have to make heartbreaking sacrifices.

Viewers should look forward to how the Kang family’s situation will be resolved and also get a peek at how the Korean justice system will rule in this scenario.

Two episodes are left in this healing series, in the end, we are all rooting for Mok-ha to achieve her dream and the rest of the characters’ happy endings.

Be inspired by Mok-ha’s story of pursuing dreams in Castaway Diva. International fans can watch it on Netflix!
