Extraordinary Attorney Woo Episode 10 Highlights

Confronting her feelings with Jun-ho, Young-woo took the straightforward approach but was not able to get a reply. Contemplating his situation, Jun-ho summons all the love he has and makes a sincere confession in the last episode.

“I’ll just take you home now. Holding hands can wait.”

Sharing with Geu Ra-mi and Min-sik the development of her love story, the two tease her about it. Unfortunately, getting a love confession from the guy she likes flustered her so she was not able to properly respond and sped away.

Min-sik advises going on dates so they can get to know each other well. Picking up his advice, Young-woo waits for Jun-ho after work and proposes date ideas she has listed down. Noticing there is no “holding hands” on the list, he proposes to add but she explains it’s a hard thing for her to do.

However, relenting to his suggestion, they try to hold hands. Inevitably, Young-woo’s disinclination kicks in not even reaching the 57 seconds she said to be her record.

“We really do love each other. But true love doesn’t have to be your first love.”

While riding the subway Young-woo picks up a case that is similar to her love situation. It involves a man who was accused of sexual harassment against a woman with an intellectual disability. While the two have mutual feelings, the plaintiff’s mother deems her daughter was taken advantage.

During the trial, the case is going weak for the defendant especially when the prosecutor summoned an expert to assess the complainant’s situation. She explains how given her mental capacity like that of a 13-year-old, she is vulnerable to the emotional pain that she might not understand well.

Normal people can soundly process emotions and fend for themselves but not her case. Learning of the defendant’s previous case that is similar to his current case; Woo-young decides to withdraw.

At night, she goes for a romantic night stroll at Deoksugung Stone Wall Path with Jun-ho. She shares the legend of how couples who walk together along the pathway ends up breaking up which made Jun-ho panic.

Then, they see Jun-ho’s friends who assume he is on volunteer activity. Not wanting to create confusion, he proudly tells his friends that he is on a date and introduces Young-woo properly. Just then, Young-woo figures out the plaintiff’s message to her the other time at court.

They head to meet her at Barista Academy and she confirms the true love her client insists to be true. She convinces her to be on a witness stand so her boyfriend gets a higher chance of not getting imprisoned. Unfortunately, she buckles on the witness stand and was not able to express her real emotions that she was only forced by her mother.

“Even if other people say it’s not, if you say it’s love, it’s love.”

Trying to help her “spring sunshine” friend with her mission to be aggressive in finding love, she suggests a blind date with Min-sik. Ironically, Min-sik who gives sound love advice and is kind is utterly hopeless on a blind date.

Jun-ho meets his friends and got into a fight when Young-woo’s autism is being questioned by one of his friends. He strongly makes his statement that he knows what he’s doing and that he will fight for it.

On the last day of the trial, Young-woo’s client gets favorable support from the jury. But the final verdict is for a two-year jail sentence. Watching the plaintiff weep with all her heart, Young-woo ponders on her situation with Jun-ho.

After the trial, Young-woo walks Jun-ho home and when they reach the destination, she wonders why there’s no meaning in a date like that. Jun-ho replies how dates are always like that inefficient and sometimes silly.

Then, Young-woo tells him how people like her with disability struggle to prove that they are really in love. So, he reassures her that her voice speaks for what she really feels. If she says she’s in love then she is. When she asks if he’s still willing to love her when it’s hard, he genuinely responds that he will.

Trying her best to return that heartfelt love declaration, Young-woo inches closer to Jun-ho and plants an awkward kiss on his lips which he received.

When she asked if their teeth are supposed to collide, he politely explains for her to open her mouth a little bit and close her eyes. Quick to uptake, Young-woo does it and they share a sweet kiss.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo Episode 10 Musings

Finally! As virtual friends and supporters of the “whale couple” this episode of Extraordinary Attorney Woo marks another growth turning point for our beloved female lead.

Su-yeon’s assertive attitude to claiming love speaks about a woman’s perspective to emancipate herself from society’s expectations of how the female populace should date.

This episode features the struggle of women with autism or mental concerns to find someone who will love them unconditionally. But it also sheds light on how even normal and successful women experience the same predicament. Unfortunately, there’s no limitless supply of Jun-ho that can solve this problem.

Three weeks to the series finale, we pray that Min-woo finds happiness in his heart so he can stop being a petty officemate at Hanbada. If Su-yeon can bear his inadequacies, let’s pray the drama can make it happen soon.

Whale Couple is Officially Dating

Aren’t we in luck because Young-woo has an aversion to holding hands but not with kisses? Does it mean we get to see more of those awkward but adorable lip locks between her and Jun-ho?

Remarkably, the romance development in this series is unhurried, but we never felt annoyed wanting to rush it like how we often do with standard rom-coms. That is because we understand that the love story does not take the bulk of Young-woo’s journey. But it is an important aspect of her life as she gets to feel emotions on her own, the good or the bad of it.

As she highlights the concerns of the people she represents, we are getting more enlightened about how there are opportunities to understand them, but sometimes we would opt to either ignore or oppose them.

Straightforwardly, the drama also presents that Jun-ho’s decision to love her is really hard. It was not even sugarcoated as reflected in the scene where he fought his friend.

As we go to the engrossing romantic part, we expect some sad notes on the horizon. It’s understandable but it won’t hurt for more fan service.

Celebrate the colorful courtroom life of Woo Young-woo in Extraordinary Attorney Woo! International fans can watch the series on Netflix.
