Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Episode 11 Key Moments

“I like you. You told me your feelings for me so honestly. I should give you a proper reply. I also have feelings for you.”

Sealing their relationship with a kiss, Hye-jin motions to leave after getting a happy confirmation through their kiss. But Du-sik returns her heartfelt confession with his own earnest version making her beam blissfully. Officially affirming they are now a couple, they walk side by side, holding each other’s hand.

Reaching Hye-jin’s place, she mentions holding off their relationship status first and shares she has to turn down Ji PD first. Cutely upset on why she dragged the situation, she returns the question of why he did not pursue her earlier.  Admitting, he failed to realize how much she means to him, she gets a satisfying answer. Still, she decides to halt their dating status to sort her concern with Ji PD.

While preparing to sleep, Hye-jin looks up to Du-sik’s answer on how much he likes her and smiles at how big Lake Baikal is. She calls her quasi-boyfriend teasing how he said he won’t answer her call. Continuing her chirpy mood, she confirms his deep and long-lasting devotion to her based on the description of the lake, and he smiles inwardly.

Both feeling heart flutters, Du-sik makes her remember the story behind the family photo she has on her desk. He reveals he was the little boy who made her smile that day and his grandfather took the picture.

Their world gets even smaller when Hye-jin recalls the young man who gave her money in the past as he also remembers it. While she marvels at their fates, he teases it as coincidences. Nevertheless, he’s happy that they found their way back to each other.

“Seeing you again brought back old memories. To be frank, I never really reminisced those days.”

In high spirit, Ji PD meets Hye-jin at the cafe leaving the editing of the show to his team. Telling her he’s ready for whatever answer she has to his love confession, Hye-jin responds how she’s grateful for being the first person who cares about her in the days when life was hard for her. His encouragements comforted her greatly.

Confessing she also had feelings for him back then, she admits choosing not to entertain it because of the lack of confidence on her end that it won’t work. However, she neatly tells him that she can’t return the love he has for her.

“I’ve regretted not being true to my feelings back then. So, I’d like to be honest this time around. I’m sorry, Sung-hyun. There’s someone I like.”

Accepting her words, Sung-hyun appreciated Hye-jin’s honesty. He also corrects her that in those times when she thought she’s at the bottom rock of her life, she actually shined more by showing her determination and sticking to her beliefs. He tells her that she’s proud to have her as his first love. She also returns the llama charm to him.

“Are they going to fight over me?”

After their conversation, they spot Du-sik approaching with a blank expression. Deducing who the man Hye-jin likes, Ji PD invites him for a chat making her worry. Ji PD nonchalantly mentions being turned down by Hye-jin and confirms his suspicion. He remarks the man does not deserve his first love, so Du-sik defends himself subtly.

Reminding him to be good to Hye-jin by making her happy and feeding her great food, Ji PD genuinely wish for their happy relationship since he likes her and he is fond of him, too.

As soon as Du-sik enters Hye-jin’s place, she pesters him of what he talked about with Ji PD. He responds that her friend gave his blessing so they can formally proceed with their delayed dating status.

However, Hye-jin insists to keep it a secret not buying Du-sik’s sensible reason of how Gong-jin people would definitely find out their secret. But she is firm on keeping it to themselves since she can’t stand an avalanche of more rumors involving them.

He relents to her wish when he starts pouting. It made her smile and officially declares their first day as a couple. Basking on their newfound love, the dimples on their faces show as they enjoy their saccharine sofa moment. It did not prolong though when broken-hearted Mi-seon whines at their blissful-looking faces.

Yeong-guk finds Ji PD drinking alone and they unexpectedly share their frustrating relationships. From sober to wasted, they both share what their anguished hearts feel for their failed marriage and first love. Ultimately, “timing” gets the blame for their relationships’ misfortunes.

“Don’t come near me. Stay at least two meters away from me when we’re outside for my safety.”

It’s day 2 of Gongjin’s dimple couple and Hye-jin happily orders her coffee fix from her boyfriend. Acting sweet to each other, the whipped cream burst on Du-sik’s face so she takes charge of cleaning it. Just then though, Chun-jae arrives so she slaps his face and walks away.

At lunch time, Du-sik delivers food at her clinic and she follows him to the door to apologize for the slap. Touching his face, she tries to soothe the slapped side but Nam-suk approached so Hye-jin kicks him strongly for forgetting the dumpling.

Quick to appease her boyfriend, Hye-jin calls Du-sik who jokes if she really wants to date or kill him. He forgives her easily and begs her not to visit him at Bora’s store. Ignoring his request, Hye-jin goes to the store but was warned not to go closer to him.

Coaxing her boyfriend she draws a “let’s date this weekend” card thawing Du-sik’s pretentious cold front. Teasing each other at what they can do on their first date, the storeowners enter so Hye-jin hits Du-sik’s nose with her head.

Bombarding him with I’m-sorry text messages, Hye-jin asks Mi-seon what Du-sik could be doing in the last five hours for him not to answer her messages. She decides to visit him at his house. When she heard him approaching with the grandmothers, she hides. Du-sik, who saw her shoes, rushes to have his guests leave and finds her hiding inside his closet.

Carrying her like a princess, he agrees to her request to always check his phone for her messages since she does not like not being able to reach him. She also tells him not to lie to her and they should never keep secrets from each other as well.

“Did you mark our first day as a couple?”

Seeing their first day as a couple was marked with a heart on his calendar, Hye-jin teases him for being adorable. When he slips and they fall on his bed, he motions for a kiss but they got interrupted by Mi-seon’s call.

Du-sik walks her home while chatting about his long list of licenses.  Then, they see the village people, so she tries to get physical, but the people stop her. They also impose a distance restriction to avoid her from being violent to him.

Du-sik losing his phone makes it harder for them to communicate. Meanwhile, writer Wang takes care of Ji PD who is nursing his broken heart for the second time over his first love. She straightens him up as he’s no longer a teenager to fuss over a broken heart.

Interestingly, Eun-cheol arrives at the clinic to go for a scaling treatment. Before Mi-seon goes for it, he braves a confession knowing she can still understand his muffled confession.

He tells her that he wants to get to know her more and that he also likes her. But she pretends not understanding what he’s saying which baffled Eun-cheol.  Savoring the happiness, Mi-seon refuses to share the good news with Hye-jin yet.

“I lived 34 days without you but each day seems to last forever since I met you.”

Sneaking a call to his girlfriend, Du-sik tells Hye-jin of their date the next day. They plan on skipping the town’s meeting. Excited to see each other after work, they embrace each other at their meeting place.

She vocally expresses how much she misses and wants to be with him, he responds the same. Noticing Hye-jin does not like his mirror response, he sweet-talks her of how he longs to be with her each day.

Unknown to them, Gongjin people witness their exchange of sweet nothings. He tries to explain why they embraced, but Hye-jin confesses she’s dating Du-sik and wants to love him openly. Gongjin people respond they know their secret and wish them happiness as new lovers.

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Episode 11 Musings

How we wish for uninterrupted fan service episodes down the stretch of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. But of course, we can negotiate for half of it. After all, we still don’t know the answers to Gongjin’s three secrets. Though it looks that one of those will be revealed sooner.

Hye-jin’s and Sung-hyun’s love closure was drawn with a well-deserved spotlight. It left a lesson about how relationships for young people have strong tendencies not to sustain the pressure. Choosing between building a career while nurturing a romantic relationship is not as easy as common people claimed to be.

Just like Hye-jin who had to select between her personal dreams and the growing affection she feels for someone. Indecisiveness should be treated as a culprit. Hye-jin and Ji PD are both guilty of it. Moreover, if “timing” can talk, it would have sworn to a lot of lovers opting for its presence as an excuse for failed almost relationships.

Now that Eun-cheol clarified his confusing actions, pointing to feasible love story no. 2 in Gongjin, the loose threads are beginning to be tied up neatly. I hope to see Mi-seon and Eun-cheol’s perky relationship blossom soon, like episode 12 onwards soon.

There’s a hint of love quarrel for the dimple couple. Du-sik’s self-sacrificing nature hopefully, would learn to compromise especially since Hye-jin’s dating pet peeve is preferring to lie than being honest.
