Imitation Episode 4 Key Moments

“I can’t stop here. We can’t end our performance like this.”

Maha, Hyunji, and Ria’s dreams had finally come true, but not without a hiccup! When SHAX appeared for promotion of their latest music, it put the rookies about to perform in the music show on shortened exposure.

Behind the act is the evil CEO’s whim of NOG Entertainment who does not want Jihak’s venture to go on.

But the girls are up for the challenge and opted not to wallow in the disappointing situation. Even when there was a minor stage technical problem, they use it to their advantage and gave an impressive performance.

“We’ve been snarling at each other. Then we suddenly have to kiss.”

After Tea Party’s successful debut stage, offers keep pouring for the bright rookie girlgroup. Maha also clinches a movie audition in the movie that stars Ryeok.

In the scenes that she struggles to grasp the right emotion, Ryeok helped her realized what needs to be done.. While filming, Ryeok subconsciously smiles at the thought of Maha’s clumsy nature. He is also quick to worry if he might have inadvertently scared him with his acting.

They also shared a fleeting kiss scene which Ryeok successfully led That kiss scene would later not make Ryeok’s fans jealous but also Yujin. Harboring admiration to Maha’s faithful friend, Hyunji worried about Yujin.

“Let’s get up to 5 million audiences!”

To raise viewer attendance, the cast and crew of the movie go for a promotional tour. While Maha doodles on Ryeok’s face printed on the merchandise given by SHAX’s fan club, Ryeok steals glances at her every now and then.

Fascinated by her food appetite, he also makes small talk with her. A strange behavior as he usually likes to be alone.

His hobby to adorably straighten up Maha when she is too flustered has led them to promise to do an important scene in the movie if they reach 5 million ticket sales. After a long day, the team retires in a hotel. It turns out that Maha and Ryeok inadvertently switched their loot bags which have Ryeok’s favorite mouthwash.

While his manager went out to buy it in the nearby convenience store, Ryeok’s groupie decides to rest their stalking as well. But when they spot another groupie off to probably find their united idol target, they chase after them.

At that same moment, Maha knocks at Ryeok’s door who just took a shower. Thankfully, his reflexes are fast, he was able to pull Maha inside the room before his fans spotted her.

Imitation Episode 4 Musings

Ryeok and Maha’s love story is on its way to be fulfilled in the next episodes of Imitation. Evidently, the drama adaptation has picked on the key highlights of its original webtoon and tweaked it to something that can work well in a television drama set. Like altering Maha’s bareback exposure to that technical sound issue in Tea Party’s debut stage.

With a relatively loaded K-Drama lineup these days, Imitation might slip your radar. But I hope it won’t. There’s a stigma about youth dramas’ feel-good but shallow plot. I think because the series came from a material that was nicely conceived, it will not go that route. Adding to that, it actually needs more episodes, to be honest.

The scene when Maha had a flashback of all the hard work they have done thus far only to be confronted with a sound issue on their debut stage was beautifully captured. Putting the focus on the main cast’s aspirations makes the series an encouraging watch. While there are hindrances along the way, the direction it moves to are relatable concerns that young and young at hearts can relate to – chasing dreams and discovering love.

Glimpses of the South Korean entertainment world have been inserted in the series since day 1. This week, it mentioned the considerate action of established and popular senior K-Pop groups to their juniors in not going to Music Shows. It also presented the marketing plan of agencies to venture their artists not just in music, but in acting and advertising.

In the webtoon, Maha and Ryeok’s love journey is easy to root for. So for followers like me, prepare for the same and summon a lot of patience since we only get a dose each week. Ryeok defying his agency’s evil CEO would obviously materialize once the romantic line is in full swing for the love pairing. Most likely Ryeok’s rich background would still be his trump card to protect Maha along the way.

Are we going to prepare our jealous hearts for Ryeok and Maha’s love fulfillment in the forthcoming chapters?
