Love Scout Episodes 9 Highlights
“Whether I am insulted or treated inappropriately, I choose to attend or not.”
Heading out of the event together, Ji-yoon is rather mad at Eun-ho for meddling in when she could have handled the situation herself. Does he look down on her and think she is pathetic? But Ji-yoon isn’t angry because Eun-ho stepped in, but because she didn’t want him to witness her get humiliated like that. Assuring Ji-yoon that he will always stay by her side, Ji-yoon calms down and all is good and well.
Just like Eun-ho, Jung-hoon wants to protect Ji-yoon too, but his hands are tied because of his father. All Jung-hoon can do is warn Ji-yoon not to trust his father and tell his father not to hurt Ji-yoon. Not that Jung-hoon’s father will listen to him. He has already made up his mind. Since Ji-yoon won’t become his daughter-in-law, she has to prove her “competence” or else he will have her replaced by Hye-jin.
Speaking of Hye-jin, both Ji-yoon and Hye-jin get tasked to scout a CEO for a company that is facing some risks. The winner will get an exclusive contract with the company. But while Ji-yoon plays fair, Hye-jin spares no chance to get under Ji-yoon’s skin. Satisfyingly enough, Eun-ho puts Hye-jin in her place when she insults Ji-yoon. (Side note: Hye-jin meets privately with the person in charge, and it seems she has leverage over him, getting us concerned about Ji-yoon getting unfairly defeated.)

“Do you have her contact info? Or the name of the company?”
The theory about Eun-ho being the kid Ji-yoon rescued before his death is proven true this week. Not that we needed that proof. Learning about it, Eun-ho turns pale, deeming himself the reason why Ji-yoon lost her father and got traumatized. Thinking back on every time Ji-yoon has talked about her father, it hits differently and Eun-ho feels he is to blame for the pain Ji-yoon went through while growing up.
During his absorbed state, Eun-ho gets a call from Ji-yoon. But it is Byeol who is talking since the two are hanging out together. Pretending he is fine, Eun-ho joins them. But Ji-yoon can tell that something feels off. Taking the next day off, Eun-ho heads to the columbarium to visit Ji-yoon’s father’s urn. And then, he goes to Ji-yoon’s place and tells her everything, getting her appalled.
Love Scout Episodes 9 Musings
Normally, K-Dramas drag on these plotlines, so we appreciate Eun-ho mustering up the courage and not taking too much time to tell Ji-yoon the truth. Of course, it was a hard thing to do. But nothing good would come out of delaying it. On the other hand, we trust Ji-yoon’s sense of judgment, though it would be tough for anyone to maintain their rationale in a situation like that. Please, show, don’t break our leads apart, and let them stay together.
There has been much talk about Jung-hoon’s elder brother dying untimely, but why does it feel like Jung-hoon’s father had a hand in it? Did the elder brother get in his way, so he had him eliminated, thus Jung-hoon’s vow not to end up like his brother? (Also, does it have anything to do with Seo-jun’s parents’ death?) One thing for sure is that Jung-hoon’s father is slyer than he looks and might as well be the big baddie.
