Yoon-Soo’s world continues to get smaller as Principal Noh already knew that she was back again in the latest episode of Melancholia.
Meanwhile, little by little, the stony heart of Yoon-Soo turns soft towards Seung-Yoo and learns to open up again about the resentment that she feels to the issue that happened years ago.

Melancholia Episode 10 Key Moments
Seung-Yoo Takes Care of Yoon-Soo
Opening the episode, Principal Noh almost caught Yoon-Soo and Seung-Yoo, but luck is on their side. Yoon-Soo ran so fast in her car and leaves the restaurant immediately.
Thereafter, Seung-Yoo went to the dinner as planned. He explicitly opened to the assemblymen and ministers the reason behind his success. He said that a certain teacher motivated and awakened his passion for Mathematics.
After their dinner, Seung-Yoo tries to call Yoon-Soo, hurriedly rushing to her apartment. When Yoon-Soo picks up the call, she said that she couldn’t breathe, which made him worry even more.
Seung-Yoo fetches Yoon-Soo and they go to the hospital. It seems that she suffered from a panic attack because she was almost caught by Principal Noh. She also had nightmares about the bad and disrespectful things she experienced when the rumor was spread.
Even though she keeps pushing him away, he managed to stay with her. Then, Seung-Yoo told Yoon-Soo that she can open up to him by imagining he is Principal Noh.
Almost crying, Yoon-Soo pretended that she’s talking to Principal Noh and told the principal she should apologize for all the things she did. Yoon-Soo was humiliated and mentally harassed by her co-teachers, students, and parents that leaves her traumatized.
Ye-Rin Confronted Yoon-Soo
When Yoon-Soo and Seung-Yoo were talking in the hospital, Seung-Yoo got a text from Ye-Rin if they can meet up and eat dinner. He agrees and buys a cake because it’s her birthday.
Ye-Rin dolls up and goes to see Seung-Yoo. She apologizes for the things she has done before. She says that it wasn’t her intention for the photo to be used that way. She reveals that she only gave that photo to Principal Noh.
On the other hand, when Kyu-Young found out that Ye-Rin and Seung-Yoo ate dinner together, he got jealous. That’s why he said that he saw Seung-Yoo and Yoon-Soo together.
The next day, Ye-Rin waits for Yoon-Soo to talk. However, she’s still the same girl before and refuses to apologize to Yoon-Soo. She also tells her that Seung-yoo stays with her because he pities her.
Yoon-Soo Starts Falling in Love Again With Mathematics
Yoon-Soo opens up to his father that she’s not excited to solve mathematics problems anymore. However, when Si-An asked for Yoon-Soo’s help with a problem that Seung-Yoo gave them to solve, she tried solving it.
She allots most of her evenings solving the problem but she can’t find the answer. Inevitably getting frustrated, she rushed to the library to find a book that could help her solve it. Seung-Yoo follows her, and she tells him that she now hates Mathematics.
Ending the episode, Yoon-Soo cries and Seung-Yoo hugs her tightly. He tells her that he wanted to make her smile again.
Melancholia Episode 10 Musings
As viewers predicted, this episode shows major improvement to Yoon-Soo and Seung-Yoo’s relationship. I felt that Yoon-Soo had a very hard time when she was humiliated in front of many people that’s why she had a panic attack when she saw Principal Noh.
Seung-Yoo became Yoon-Soo’s safe haven whenever she was sad and breaking down. It’s also faintly evident that Ye-Rin got jealous because Seung-Yoo might still like Yoon-Soo. On that note, it’s annoying how she still depends on Prinicipal Noh, looking like she doesn’t even grow up.
We can anticipate the next episodes would be thrilling ones, and I cheer for Seung-Yoo and Yoon-Soo to get even braver to gain back their reputation. Asung high school’s wrongdoings and biases should also be unveiled.
