My Lovely Liar

My Lovely Liar Episodes 5 and 6 Highlights

Previously, Sol-hee accompanies Do-ha to where Shaon threatens to commit suicide. It brings back Do-ha’s past trauma leading to his body burning up due to stress.

Sol-hee stays the night at his place when he subconsciously seeks comfort in her presence. The next day, they are both surprised waking up to each other’s presence.

Do-ha tells So-hee not to worry about him anymore. Questioning his reasons, she receives a firm response to just let him be.

“It seems to be your habit to dump your duties on others. You can neither eat nor take off your mask outside. What if you can’t even do music, what will you do in life?”

Taking advantage of Do-ha’s super lowkey status, a man assumes his identity which resulted in J-Entertainment’s business plummeting to uncertainty.

Do-ha also draws a firm line with Sha-on when they meet in the office. He also struggles alone resulting in his inability to play the piano at the jazz bar.

Meanwhile, Kang-min seems resolute to reignite what he used to have with Sol-hee. However, she is focused on the situation happening to Do-ha.

Receiving a push from Deuk-chan, Sol-hee confronts Do-ha and bravely gives an unsolicited pep talk which fortunately reaches him.

She tells him how his choice to keep everything bottled inside hurts him in the process. She also asserts how it is not always okay to let people assume who he is because he is not clarifying the issue.

What he did next is meet the impostor who turned out to be one of Composer Moo-jin’s previous ghost composers who wants to stand up for the unfairness he received.

Bringing the impostor to the office, Do-ha also officially introduces himself to the staff who is running out of ideas on how they can answer the ongoing company concern.

Receiving a text from Do-ha, Sol-hee shows up at the bar to witness his stage. After playing, he also takes off his mask. Later, he also treats Sol-hee to a meal.

But Do-ha’s new-found bravery struggles to compete with reality. Having used to recluse living, he gets paranoid while they were dining. Sol-hee patiently walks him every step of the way to become familiar, nonetheless.

After a round of drinks, alcohol took over Sol-hee and she inadvertently ruined her clothing with some sauce which Do-ha struggled to clean up. Armed with patience, he also buys her an ice cream when she asked for it.

Reaching the villa, he settled her on her bed. The next day, he also bought hangover soup and drinks which Sol-hee badly need.

“You don’t look like you are dressed up for a soccer game.”

Wallowing in sadness, Shaon still convinces herself that Do-ha likes her despite the latter straightforwardly telling her that he does not see her as a woman.

Meanwhile, Deuk-chan meets a cryptic man who asks about Seung-ju (Do-ha’s real name) and he smells of future trouble for Do-ha.

Remembering Sol-hee’s wish to watch a soccer game, Do-ha invites her to watch it. However, they struggled to find a place to do so until they reach the neighborhood bar.

In her truth-detecting work, Sol-hee, unfortunately, meets her mother as the subject. Her mom is trying to become a family member of a rich family. One of the daughters commissioned Sol-hee to check her intention. Against her mother’s plea, she relays her verdict.

It leads to her mother’s annoying fury. She storms at the cafe and destroys everything within her reach. Worried that Sol-hee does not have an umbrella, Do-ha who went to the cafe to bring her one accidentally eavesdrops the conversation.

Feeling frustrated, Sol-hee confesses her unique ability to hear lies.

My Lovely Liar Episodes 5 and 6 Musings

Being honest and revealing vulnerabilities, My Lovely Liar slowly seals the connection of the lead pairing.

It’s interesting to note that Sol-hee opted to push Do-ha out of his comfort zone as a way of protecting him. Unlike Deuk-chan and Do-ha’s mother who chose to hide his identity.

The push he got from his lovely neighbor also made him correct situations he is forced to relent with such as Deuk-chan’s brother’s money extortion.

Let’s hope that he would overcome fully his past trauma. Sooner, we will get the full picture of how he is tangled in the unfortunate event related to his ex-lover.

With Kang-min putting up a reasonable love fight, we can expect interesting development in the love narrative. Before that, we also root for Sol-hee to emancipate herself from the guilt her mother keeps throwing at her when she is not really at fault.

How will Do-ha react to Sol-hee’s confession? Will she also learn about his past trauma in next week’s episode?

Take lessons about trusting someone and overcoming self-doubts with Sol-hee and Do-ha in My Lovely Liar!
