As Jae-eon sees Do-hyeok from afar, he intentionally enters the house together with Nabi to pack his things with her.

While packing, Jae-eon stares at the butterfly that he gave to Nabi hanging in her window. He sits closer to Nabi to check on her wound but gets rejected when he moves forward for a kiss. He also boldly asks Nabi to go out together with him, which leaves Nabi speechless.

Do-hyeok receives a contract from an entertainment agency in a cafe, but he also sees Jae-eon together with Seol-a. Jae-eon offers to accompany Seol-a on her way to the airport, but she refuses the offer. She tells Jae-eon that she no longer wants to accept the vague generosity and be swayed. “But you know, some things just work out suddenly even when you think there’s no hope.”

Nabi expresses her difficulties in her work to Sol. In response to that, Sol gives Nabi warm words of encouragement, wherein Nabi notices that something good might have happened recently for Sol. She then congratulates Sol on her progress with Ji-wan.

Meanwhile, Bit-na, together with her old gym instructor, visits the internet cafe Gyu-hyun is working at. She bugs him and asks him to go on a date together after seeing her name in his phone. They begin dating again after Bit-na proposes the idea of getting back together again with Gyu-hyun.

“Getting attracted to each other like that already makes it special. It’s a miracle.”

Sol checks up on Nabi’s relationship with Jae-eon, and tells her that they really look good together as a couple. However, Nabi diverts the focus to Sol and Ji-wan’s instead of hers. Nabi remembers that she has recently given advice to Ji-wan, and praises that both parties are sure of their feelings. Looking at her own situation, Nabi utters that her relationship with Jae-eon was all wrong from the beginning.

“But I won’t blame you. I brought it on myself. I knew there was no happy ending for us, but I was an idiot for getting my hopes up and thinking you could be sincere.”

After eating together with her assistants, Nabi meets up with Do-hyeok, and she receives printed photos of her from their hometown. Do-hyeok admits to Nabi that he has seen her and Jae-eon enter her house together, and questions if she has ever felt even once that Jae-eon sincerely likes her.

Jae-eon gets soaked in the rain while waiting in front of Nabi’s house. He confronts her about their relationship and her feelings towards Do-hyeok. Nabi coldly asks Jae-eon to leave, and talk when he’s sober. They express their frustrations to each other, and Nabi firmly tells Jae-eon that she no longer wishes to see him again.

Nevertheless Episode 9 Musings

For the supporting characters of the series, their relationship statuses take a step forward. Ji-wan and Sol finally become clear of their feelings for each other after being clouded with the turnout of their relationship in the recent episodes. Bit-na and Gyu-hyun decide to begin again after overcoming the differences in their views of a relationship. In both couples, they all surely made an effort to be able to reach where they are at present.

Nabi is aware of Do-hyeok’s good sides, and we see her admit in this episode that Do-hyeok has a lot of good points and he does not deserve to be disappointed. It’s great that she’s not blind to how good Do-hyeok treats her. Do-hyeok’s character becomes bolder in this episode as he shakes Nabi about whether Jae-eon has sincerely liked her.

Seol-a leaves the country, and she gives up hanging on to Jae-eon. She knows her boundaries, and draws the line clearly. Before, she appears to be a selfish character, but now she finally learns to let go.

In both Nabi’s academic life and love life, she seems to be having troubles. Her work for the exhibition needs to have more improvements as her professor is unsatisfied with her progress. For her love life, she is stuck in between Do-hyeok and Jae-eon.

Jae-eon’s confrontation really highlighted his bad points as a man pursuing Nabi, and it just gives a clear picture of how their relationship would turn out. Jae-eon’s drunk behavior is quite disappointing, especially the way he stopped and grabbed Nabi from going. As the final episode comes closer, viewers shall look forward to who Nabi will end up with or if she would end up with neither. Moreover, we shall see what will happen in Nabi’s work at their exhibition.
