Racket Boys Episode 15 Key Moments
“She’s right. They can’t do it without our consent.”
Persistent in developing the land into a golf course, the company persuades the elders of Haenam in stamping their seal to their plans through increasing their offered monetary compensation.
With the increased monetary offer and growing number of villagers who are giving their approval, the elders are slightly swayed into stamping their seals also.
However, Shin Phil-ja remains firm in rejecting the development plans of the company, and she also encourages Shin Song-hee along with the other elders of the village to stand firm with their disapproval of the company’s plans.
“You’re still young. You know you have your whole life ahead of you, right? You can’t always win. Sometimes it takes courage to give up. But now is not the time. You will win today’s finals, no matter what.”
The Jeonnam team is worried and nervous for their match against Seoul. In the first singles match, Yong Tae feels tense competing against his old teammate Jae-seok and loses the first set of their match.
Resting in the hallway, Yong Tae meets his idol Lee Yong-dae, and regains his strength to continue his singles match. He comes back to the court more determined with a new drive, and wins the match against Jae-seok.
Yoon Dam faints at the second singles match, and he is given the option whether or not to continue competing in the match. Coach Bae gives him a visit, and tells him encouraging words about being a captain and also a best player of the team.
Yoon Dam decides to come back to the court and finish his match. Just like Yong Tae, he wins his match despite losing in the first set.
“Those who like to bully and hit others don’t know how lame and stupid it looks. There are a lot of ways to take revenge. I want you to have fun thinking about what you should do to really piss them off. ”
Kang Tae-seon comes back to the badminton competition scene, but he feels disheartened by how nobody is glad that he is back as some of his juniors in the past disrespect and talk behind his back. Coach Bae notices how Tae-seon feels dejected, so he books Tae-seon an interview with a reporter, and also brings him to the NJSF to lift his spirits.
With Coach Bae’s efforts of uplifting his morale, Tae-seon heads on Jeonnam’s badminton competition, and wins his match against Gyeong-min, his old teammate in the national team who badmouthed him and Coach Bae.
“We can’t give our village to trashes like you.”
Confident that the elders would finally stamp their seals in their offer, the CEO is unfazed with the elders’ change of mind. The CEO does not mind going on with their company’s plans even without the approval of the village elders as they claim to have gathered 80% of the other villager’s approval.
However, Grandma Ome notices that her mother’s name is part of the list of the villagers who gave their approval, and calls out the company’s unlawful move of including the deceased. The CEO is shocked as he recalls that she is illiterate.
Moreover, the man from the city couple introduces himself as a civil servant knowledgeable to the law, and enumerates the violations of the company.
The CEO of the company brings his men to wreck the village as his final violent attempt to attain the rights to Haenam’s land. However, Mr. Hong’s brother calls the police despite working under the CEO’s company.
The company cancels their plans as the elders obtain evidence of their misdeeds and hear that the police are coming.
“Who said Hae Kang is playing at the finals?”
Head coach Fang and Coach Yu-ri discuss how disadvantaged Jeonnam is against Seoul in the doubles match because of Park Chan’s abilities. Coach Fang goes on about how the aces of Jeonnam are Hae Kang and Yoon Dam, and the other members of the team are undertrained.
The two coaches also note that Hae Kang has not played badminton for about five years, and it is unlikely for him to beat Park Chan. However, Coach Ra surprises the two coaches as she tells them Hae Kang is not playing for the finals singles against Park Chan, but will play instead at the first doubles.

“You’re the start and the end of this operation. They say top players lead games, but it could be ordinary players who turn the tide.”
Coach Yoon gives Woo Chan a chance to play in the NJSF, and diligently trains with him for the doubles match. After thoroughly analyzing past matches videos of the Seoul team, Coach Yoon realizes the chance of winning through strengthening the team’s defense. He then pairs up Woo Chan whose specialty is defense with Hae Kang for the doubles.

Racket Boys Episode 15 Musings
Other than the NJSF, the commotion in Haenam about the golf course development is given attention at this episode. Yoon Hae In looked so warmhearted and thoughtful when she was teaching the elders how to write.
Even though Hae In was the youngest in the village, the elders were open to learning from someone younger than them. Such possibly implies that young or old, people can learn from each other despite the difference in age.
Again in this episode similar to episode 12, characters are finally introduced by their whole names. The man from the city couple claims his identity and bravely stands up for himself as well as the village. He introduces himself as Kim Tae-ho, a civil servant, and his introduction is symbolic as he becomes braver and more certain unlike before.
At the NJSF, we see how believing in one’s self is important in battles that seem to be hopeless. Moreover, the episode also teaches the role of motivation in achieving success.
As seen in Tae-seon’s match, he was discouraged at first because of the people around him, but as he becomes clear with his motivation, he succeeds in his match.
Racket Boys is about to reach its final episode, and viewers shall expect to see the final outcome of the NJSF. Individual closing stories from each villager shall also be anticipated in the finale. The close bond in Haenam is so heartwarming, and for the last time, viewers shall witness this tight-knit friendship.
