Where everyone has a chance to inherit Soonyang, Do-jun fuels the fight for shares in Reborn Rich.
No longer hidden as the majority shareholder of Miracle Investment, Do-jun declares to Chairman Jin his intentions of buying Soonyang. Seong-jun’s marriage with Hyeon-min pushes through, but the chairman announces that the most competent shall inherit the company, which shocks everyone.

Reborn Rich Episodes 7 and 8 Highlights
“Just because he inherited your family name doesn’t mean he inherited your entrepreneurship.”
Hyeon-min rejects Seong-jun’s marriage offer after learning that he is not aware of who the real owner of Miracle Investment is. Meanwhile, Do-jun reveals himself to Chairman Jin and announces his intention of buying Soonyang, but the chairman scoffs at it.
Do-jun begins to explain how it would look bad to the chairman as a whole if news gets out about his daughter-in-law’s real estate speculation and grandson’s bribery of the mayor of Seoul. Given all those, Chang-je holds an unscheduled press conference, which closes with no news and charges for real estate speculation and bribery.
Chairman Jin angrily asks Jung-rae about the real estate speculation, but the chairman doesn’t believe that her father who is a loan shark would look for money elsewhere. Young-ki takes the blame while begging on his knees.
Seong-jun sees this, and his father reminds him not to get on his grandfather’s bad side since only he, Young-ki can be forgiven by Chairman Jin.
Do-jun hypes Chang-je to become the president as his next goal while Mr. Oh gets released from being detained. As a warning to Do-jun, Chairman Jin transfers the public welfare foundation to his son Yoon-ki.
“Families help each other when they’re in trouble.”
Chairman Jin remains firm on his rule of primogeniture wherein the eldest shall succeed him in Soonyang. Seong-jun does his all to block and retract the plans of companies and academic organizations to transfer to the digital media city.
Serving as a warning and revenge on Do-jun, Seong-jun gains a leash on Chang-je who calls Do-jun to inform him of the possibility of their deal for the construction transferred to Soonyang.
With all media companies being blocked by Soonyang, Do-jun searches for channels that don’t rely much on ads, so he sees the potential in e-sports. Hyeon-min tries to offer Do-jun to fill the spots in DMC, but he rejects it since he doesn’t want to be her puppet. He looks for Min-yeong after, but the two miss each other.
Back home, Do-jun gets informed about the public welfare foundation’s transfer to their family. Yoon-ki and Hae-in then promise their support to Do-jun’s endeavors in Miracle Investment despite Chairman Jin’s warning.

Seong-jun bears the good news of his wedding, which sparks curiosity on whether the succession would finally happen. Unknown to his family, Chairman Jin suffers an abnormality in his brain’s connections between arteries and veins, and surgery for it is risky.
Proceeding with the wedding, Hyeon-min gets confronted by Seong-jun for liking Do-jun. Walking down the aisle, Hyeon-min requests Seong-jun not to tarnish the family register.
Striking a deal with Chairman Ju who is in Soonyang Hospital, Do-jun secures the spots in DMC after suggesting to the chairman to open a home shopping channel to make its distribution company at the top.
Dong-ki shows the slush fund of Seong-jun to the chairman, but Chairman Jin acts cool about it, telling him he knew about it since he took care of Seong-jun when Young-ki had to go to jail for Soonyang.
Arriving during the family picture, Do-jun tells the chairman he gave up on buying Soonyang, but instead is ready to use all his power to acquire it.
As Seong-jun’s most awaited wedding gift, Chairman Jin announces his transfer to handle a warehouse since Seong-jun should take responsibility for his land banking issue and failed deal in DMC.
“When desire is defeated, it turns into anger and pulls the bowstring tightly.”
Angered by the recent events, Seong-jun grabs Do-jun by the collar, so Hyeon-min decides to fake passing out.
Thinking about what Chairman Ju said to him, Chairman Jin rethinks if Do-jun really is the most alike to him as a businessman.
Young-ki, Dong-ki, and Hwa-young receive equal chances to prove themselves, so Soonyang’s subsidiaries get reorganized.
Required to pay back other subsidiaries that her brothers hold, Hwa-young, though hesitant at first, takes a loan from Miracle Investment with 30% of her shares in Soonyang as collateral.
Hearing about New Data Technology, Hwa-young decides to invest in it, and follows Mr. Oh’s advice to sell her stocks when the market value of the stocks reaches 40 dollars.
Seeing the potential for it to go higher, Hwa-young commits a risky move of investing the 140 million dollars from the companies she manages after hearing her brothers tried to buy her shares held collateral.
Reborn Rich Episodes 7 and 8 Musings
Investing in stocks impulsively without analyzing the market is like a gamble with high risks. True enough with Do-jun’s inferences, Hwa-young’s desires are bigger, so acquiring her shares that Miracle holds collateral would be just easy.
Do-jun really made the elders in his family see him in a new light after revealing his position in Miracle Investment. Enough to bend Chairman Jin’s rule of primogeniture, Do-jun is definitely a difficult rival to compete with.
Now that Do-jun became bolder to move because his ownership in Miracle Investment is no longer a secret, Chairman Jin and all his possible successors feel threatened by the youngest’s abilities.
Looking at the timeline run, Min-yeong will now soon become a prosecutor while Do-jun will actively exert his energy in acquiring the needed shares in Soonyang just as how he planned.
Technological development finally enters the picture, and it’s exciting to look forward to how these developments dated in history will intertwine with the plot that is about to enter the new millennium.
