Sell Your Haunted House Episodes 11 & 12 Key Moments
Surviving the premeditated accident plotted by the villain Do Hak-sung, In-bum and Ji-a were rescued. The latter realized how her mother is not tied up to their house but to her. Thus, she was able to rescue them. Secretary Joo also endured the accident instigated by the same villain.
Ji-a deduces the need to exorcise Oh Sung-sik against the warning of Secretary Joo of how it will be dangerous not just for In-bum, but for her as well. However, Ji-a is already resigned to her plan come what may. She visits Do Hak-sung and uses her house deed as leverage to get to Oh Sung Sik’s memories.
The Truth About Oh Sung Sik’s Death
Just as expected, Do Hak-sung played dirty and bargained In-bum to be tied up in case he hurt him again. As soon as he was restrained, the villain’s minions aimed to beat them to death. Fortunately, Oh Sung Sik is too strong and was able to break out of the bind. Possessed by his uncle, In-dum chases after Hak-sung.
Ji-a who was also subduing their opponents follows her special psychic and successfully put Oh Sung Sik’s spirit to rest. In-bum gets a glimpse of what really happened to his uncle. He confirms that he did not commit suicide, but he did cause the fire in the village following Hak-sung’s command who promised him an apartment through an MOA. But when he signed a document claiming responsibility for the fire, he was not aware that he was poisoned by the villain.
That same MOA was taken by Tae-jin, Hak-sung’s former lackey who wants to score something big that will reinstate his position in the nightclub owned by Hak-sung. But Oh In-bum warns him to think of his action because his boss is the type who kills off his men when they know his weakness.
The Truth About Ji-a’s Mom’s Death
Picking up Secretary Joo’s clothing at her house, Ji-a proceeds to clean her messy house and stumbles on the missing book of exorcism in her family’s library. She confronts Secretary Joo who can’t reveal her conversation with Ji-a’s mom, the night she died.
In that book, she finds the same information she needed to unearth the mystery that her mom keeps protecting. In Ji-a’s memory, she saw her mom coaxing her to stab her heart. When she cannot do it, her mom pierces her heart in one go.
Realizing her mom still decided to risk her life knowing the exorcism will be dangerous made Ji-a detest her choice, thinking she was abandoned. Discovering she can also become her own psychic while performing the exorcism, she painstakingly goes through her altered memory to find out the real one which her mom hid from her.
Apparently, when Oh Sung Sik brought In-bum at Ji-a’s house, her mom recognized him to be possessed by an “egg ghost” – a spirit that is hard to vanquished through the common method. The only way to obliterate it is to kill the child which Ji-a’s mom decided to do to protect people that might die because of the possessed child In-bum.
Protecting his nephew with all his might, Oh Sung-sik refuses Ji-a’s mom’s demand to sacrifice the boy. But she rushes to do the deed. In-bum who rushes to enter the house finds Ji-a on the brink of losing consciousness who muttered her mom was murdered?
Sell Your Haunted House Episodes 11 & 12 Musings
Who killed Ji-a’s mom is the next driving point of the last stretch in Sell Your Haunted House. It could be Oh Sung-sik, Oh In-bum, or even Ji-a. Whoever it is, both Ji-a and In-bum would still feel accountable.
Serving the rightful punishment to Do Hang-sik is another thing we can anticipate as we wind down the series. I was expecting this narrative arc to come in the last four episodes, but it came early. I hope there can still be an interesting case they can connect to that ill-fated night that connected In-bum and Ji-a’s fate.
Closing the story neatly in four episodes would be quite dragging, and we don’t need another twist to complicate the story. Just an answer to the question above and how our main leads would deal with the aftermath.
