Why Her

Why Her Episode 4 Highlights

Previously, Soo-jae and Gong Chan share a kiss and the aftermath lingers for both of them.

Meanwhile, Group 8 members have different theories about whether their professor gave the tip to the police about the possible culprit of So-young’s death.

Director Baek urges Soo-jae to help Ji-young by assuring his experience tells him that the pointed culprit can’t do it to her sister. His remark about why So-young died at the building baffles him.

From her team’s research, Soo-jae learns of So-young’s pregnancy and some information from the super password-protected USB device was extracted.

When Ji-young refuses to cooperate with the investigation, Soo-jae was summoned by the police investigator as she’s the only thing Ji-young keeps asking for.

Agreeing to represent Ji-young, she also tricks the police officers into that the note she exchanged with her is their agreement.

“Never give power to the greedy. Never give money to the ignorant. Never hand the knife over to the crazy.”

The three villains attend the groundbreaking ceremony of a district development project.

It was witnessed by Soo-jae who met with CEO Yoon Se-pil. He is the same man who tipped her about the weakness of Chief Choi and his friends. Also, she learns that Se-pil’s plan is to bring the trio down, all at the same time.

However, Soo-jae expresses her intention of not resorting to dirtying her hands. Instead, she wants to take over. After getting an intel involving Director Han and So-young, she leaves and warns Se-pil about the accountants who backstabbed her.

Unknown to Soo-jae, her husband-and-wife colleagues were tracking her. Gong Chan hears about her meeting with an ultra-rich man keen to buy Hansu Bio which is currently being fought for by Hansu Group.

Why Her

“She is pretty. She is cool and amazing. But today my heart ached for her. It must have been so hard for her to get to where she is now.”

Huddling Group 8, Soo-jae revealed that the legal clinic’s first case is Ji-young. To prove that there’s another person who murdered So-young.

Shrugging off her students’ silent animosity about Ji-young’s case, Gong-chan was in another level of despondency hearing Soo-jae’s remark that she does not believe in her client but in herself only.

That is totally different from what his memory remembers her to be. At night, Gong Chan and Soo-jae unknowingly end up at the same restaurant to drink.

She eavesdrops on his conversation with the restaurant owner. Gong-chan shares about the woman he likes and how his heart aches for her. Because she does not know how wonderful she is but bad things keep happening to her.

Tipsy Gong Chan also spills how he overheard that she could be dating a guy worth 7 billion. But he is not fazed when the restaurant workers tease him, he does not stand a chance. He declares he can pit against the rich guy since his heart is worth 70 billion.

“Your sister just left. It will still haunt you. But live your own life. You must. Keep your guard up. Don’t let anyone tell you what to do.”

While Group 8 proceeds with unlocking the truth about So-young’s death to acquit her sister, Soo-jae is being pressured by Chief Choi.

He insists she takes the divorce case of his son, Ju-wan. But she refuses. Ju-wan is also forcing her to hand down Hansu Bio’s documents that she has been hiding.

Chun-poong and Se-ryun track a video streamer that can help with the case while Yoon-sang tries to snoop some information from his father’s secretary.

Gathering the team, Chun-poong hands the crucial evidence that Soo-jae brought to the prosecutor handling the case. In the video, the real culprit who pushed So-young is a man.

Later, it was revealed that Soo-jae connived with Ji-young to stage an arrest for reinvestigation to happen. Soo-jae also helped with the medical bill.

Ji-young calls Soo-jae for the help she gave and vows to pay it back someday. But Soo-jae responds and advises her to live her own life and to be strong.

While driving Soo-jae receives a call from Gong Chan who apologized for thinking wrong about her. She lets it go and subconsciously blurts that the 7-billion guy is not her boyfriend.

When she realized her mistake, she hung up and Gong Chan also realized that she was at the same place when he was sharing the story about his crush.

Arriving at her place, Soo-jae senses something wrong and right away loops Gong Chan to her situation by calling him aimlessly.

Why Her

Why Her Episode 4 Musings

It’s hard not to feel worried about Soo-jae’s safety in Why Her. Innately dauntless, she’s still a woman facing numerous open and discreet adversaries.

Since the preview showed she survived the burglary, we can anticipate her retaliation. At any rate, she has Gong Chan who we can all agree is worthy of 70 billion. *wink

While the chaos is building among the contending players of Hansu Bio acquisition, Soo-jae is at the center of it owing to the information she knows about them.

Why Her

This episode also hints at the cryptic realization of Soo-jae involving Chairman Choi and Director Baek.

While we root for Soo-jae’s determination to defy Chairman Choi, the old guy is utterly stubborn in controlling her.

Why Her has been haunting superb editing that makes its episodes so far thrilling but packed with plot narrative preparations.

Notably, it also layers substantial exposures to the characters along with humor and romantic notes.

Everything is perfectly plated so far. So, if you are still not on board, make sure to ride it soon!
