While having their feelings assessed, Da-jung and Young-do move a step forward in their relationship in the latest episode of You are my Spring.
Da-jung and Young-do start to have more quality time together. Meanwhile, Ian Chase is intrigued by the man who keeps giving him paper flowers.

You Are My Spring Episode 9 Key Moments
“Look. You are smiling, I can see that you are trying not to smile, but you cannot stop yourself.”
When Da-jung accidentally rips Young-do’s clothes, she was embarrassed and sent a message to Young-do.
Lying on her bed, Da-jung keeps smiling, and her heart flutters with the series of text messages that they send to each other.
“I checked the shops in the hotel today, but nothing really stood out. Do you know how hard it is to find the perfect shirt that suits your eye color?”
When Da-jung went to the coffee shop to meet Ian Chase, he saw him holding a paper flower and reminds him that Jung-Min used to give her those.
After seeing the paper flower, Da-jung rejects the invitation of Ian to talk.
“I hate being scared and unable to do anything.”
Instead of being alone, Da-jung goes to Young-do’s office. She opens up about her childhood and how she saw her mother being beaten up.
Da-jung musters courage in telling the story to Young-do and said that she never opens up to anyone this hidden trauma that she feels until now.
Before she starts with her story, she asks Young-do what would he do if a patient doesn’t want to open up to him.
Young-do clearly answers her by telling them that he would assure the patient that the secret would be safe to him.
Then Da-jung cries while sharing the bad experience that she felt during her childhood.
“You can cover up bad memories with good ones.”
When Da-jung is finished crying she asks for some tissue to Young-do and a tteokbokki. She invites Young-do to the rooftop to eat some.
While they eat, Young-do smells that Da-jung is wearing perfume and teases her. Da-jung asks him if a person can clear all the memories that they have, but Young-do said no.
Young-do said that she can replace the bad memories with good ones.
“Are you always this considerate and understanding of others?”
Meanwhile, Da-jung wants to apologize to Ian because of her behavior in the coffee shop. However, Ian rejects the invitation of Da-jung to talk.
But then Da-jung receives a text from Ian to talk, and she says yes. Da-jung and Ian ate just like normal friends do.
Ian wants Da-jung to be comfortable around him and not to be scared anymore.
Da-jung sends a shirt to Young-do with a letter and a paper rose that she made. The little effort that Da-jung did make Young-do’s heart happy and warm.
“To avoid hurting her, I pushed her to the other side of the world. But she folded the world in half to get close to me. How come I can never push you away? How come I can’t control myself with you?”
Even though Young-do tries to just be friends with Da-jung, he can’t contain himself when he is around Da-jung.
Early in the morning, Young-do went to the rooftop to see Da-jung. Da-jung has an appointment and tells Young-do that he should wait on him.
While waiting for Young-do, he sits on a couch and feels the sun. When Da-jung came she peeks at Young-do, and suddenly Young-do kisses her passionately.
You Are My Spring Episode 9 Musings
Among all the episodes of You Are My Spring, this episode is one of my favorites. I’m happy that the man who keeps sending paper flowers to Ian is exposed.
I believe that he may have something to do with Jung-Min’s case. I’m not really sure if that man is Da-jung’s father but I hope he is not involved in the murder case.
I love how this episode is just funny in some ways, it’s like Da-jung and Young-do were back in their youthful days. We can see in the episode that Young-do is so caring to Da-jung and their personality just complement perfectly.
However, I felt that Ian Chase has also feelings for Da-jung. I just hope that he doesn’t have any motive. But if ever that Ian likes Da-jung, I feel that he fell because of the caring side of Da-jung that he didn’t feel when he was a child.
Furthermore, I love how Young-do explained that psychiatrists don’t force their patients to talk because some things are hard to narrate.
They should first create a space where patients can feel that they were safe and wait for the time that these patients are ready.
Many people believe that individuals who went to psychiatrists to get therapy are mad but in reality, some of them just needed someone to talk to.
When feelings and emotions are repressed, their emotional baggage would be heavy and overflow in the future. That’s why feelings should be released.
Sometimes people don’t need advice, they just need someone to open their ears and let them talk without any judgments.
Prioritizing our peace of mind is as important as how we take care of our physical bodies. Young-do’s presence in Da-jung’s life created a safe haven wherein she can be easy.
We all need someone like Young-do in our lives, and when we already have them make sure that they can also rely on you.
