Netflix Confirms “The Great Flood” Top-Billed By Kim Da Mi and Park Hae Soo

A sci-fi disaster film is in the pipeline for Netflix!

The Great Flood (working title) depicts the struggle of people who bet their last hope for human survival in an apartment submerged in the last days of the earth when a great flood struck.

To be directed by Kim Byung-woo of The Terror Live fame, the film attracts public attention. Director Kim received rave reviews from both the box office and critics.

Moreover, he won the Best New Director award at major domestic film festivals including the Blue Dragon Film Festival. Much anticipation is expected for Director Kim’s new work capturing detailed and lively portrayal of characters.

Casting is also noteworthy. Kim Da Mi left a strong impression by sweeping the Rookie of the Year award at various film festivals and awards ceremonies through the movie The Witch and the drama Itaewon Class. This year, she appeared in well-loved series, Our Beloved Summer.

In The Great Flood, she plays Anna, an artificial intelligence development researcher who struggles to survive a huge tsunami. Everything from the complex emotions in front of the irresistible disaster will be captured by Kim Da Mi. She will show for the first time, her desperation to survive in an extreme situation.

Meanwhile, Park Hae Soo portrays Hee-joo. He is on a mission to rescue Anna from the great flood that threatens the planet. Park’s recent projects include Yaksha Ruthless Operations, Money Heist Korea and Squid Game.

The Great Flood foreshadows the birth of another intense film. In charge of the production is Fantasy Light, founded by Jeon Ryeo-kyung, who worked with director Kim Byung-woo in The Terror Live.
