Determined to get back the blue stone from Prince Won, Wook goes stronger with the duels he had in the latest episode of Alchemy of Souls.
Danger is also presenting itself vividly in Daeho as a soul-shifting activity performed by Jin Mu went awry. The return of Jin family’s long-lost daughter is also being set in place.

Alchemy of Souls Episode 12 Highlights
Previously, Mu-deok devises a way to make Wook engage in training fights by wagering the blue stone her student gave him.
Facing 10 fights, he has to at least win one to secure the stone from Prince Won.
Meanwhile, Jin Mu’s secret organization which openly uses dark magic has performed a new one with an evil mage master and his young right hand.
“I don’t know who the last contender will be, but Wook will not easily be defeated.”
Another defeat comes for Jang Wook who is up to two more impossible duels with experienced Jeongjingak mages. Rushing to tend to Wook’s needs, Mu-deok finds Yun-ok in his room so she goes out.
She finds Wook reviewing his game and attempts to stop him from going back so as not to see Yun-ok. Seeing her shoes drenched, Wook sits her down to wipe them. He also tells her to eat the food sent by Maidservant Kim and use her identity as his maid in Songrim.
Adorably, Wook and Prince Won discover the hidden power of the pair of jade stones in their possession. Those with magical powers can actually use it as each other’s trackers. Thus, the two hilariously find their way to each other at Songrim’s romantic bridge.
For his 9th match, seeing Dang-gu as his opponent, Wook right away concedes infuriating Mu-deok who now feels regretful of the bet she made with Prince Won. The latter who still hasn’t labeled his growing fondness towards Mu-deok feels compelled to keep the stone faintly feeling jealous of her connection to Wook.
Yul is tasked by Master Park to complete a mission of killing a soul-shifter. The reality that hit him he also relayed to Wook who made his stance that if he is in that position, he will protect the soul-shifter.
Earlier, Wook overheard Master Park and Master Lee conversing on the unfortunate life of Naksu who became a pawn to Jin Mu’s evil doings.
“I just fed on his energy. Am I running wild?”
Bringing the dead soul-shifter body to Songrim for investigation; Master Park commanded the mages to take turns in guarding except for Wook. Relenting to what was ordered of him, he then meets Mu-deok who was given an errand by Maidservant Kim to go to Cheonbugwan and bring the pastry box which Master Park earlier denied Jin Mu.
Unknown to them, the eunuch who has been blackmailing the Queen who turned out to be hosted by a shaman’s soul, was killed by Jin Mu. Escaping Jin Mu, he ends up at the hall where Wook and Mu-deok also entered when the former sensed his master’s longing to enter the workplace of her dead father.
Seizing the opportunity, Jin Mu tells the soul-shifter eunuch to feed Mu-deok’s energy and traps Wook so he can also possess his body.
Mustering his strength, Wook freed himself from the magical trap to save Mu-deok. It turns out Mu-deok overpowers the eunuch and feeds his energy.
Alchemy of Souls Episode 12 Musings
A lot of crucial details that are preparatory to the narrative are shown in the 12th episode of Alchemy of Souls. That pair of jade will serve its function most likely in the climactic moments of the series.
With Jin Mu being blatantly open in contending with Master Park, the looming battle of mages is expected as well. At this point of the series, it’s kinda creepy to realize the power of the soul ejectors.
If viewers like us are already having trust issues with discreet traitors in Daeho who could be soul-shifters themselves, we can only imagine the weight Master Park and his team feels.
Yul had a simulation of the situation he might soon face while hiding Mu-deok/Naksu’s secret and we sense his indecisiveness which also proves Wook’s greater love to defy everything to protect Mu-deok.
Notably, this episode highlights the conflicting emotions that would go full-blown once Mu-deok’s secret is out. As she is currently under Songrim’s camp, it would pose an inner conflict among the people who only see soul-shifters as bad news.
We don’t know the extent of Jin Mu’s influence, but we are getting there so we are expecting the last three weeks to be an exhilarating race.
Will Wook win back the blue jade stone? Will Mu-deok’s real identity finally unveil in the next episodes?
