Creative Process for Little Women

Conveying her gratitude, she shared it was a happy experience to work with the best crew and actors. Moreover, she also enjoyed various novel attempts that Writer Jung did in the story which viewers will find interesting.

“We want to reinterpret the novel on the premise of what if those women are in Korea. I was most proud that writer Jung has a great script and the portrayals of the actors. We have the best of the best crew. It’s a 12-episode series so it is tightly-knit.”

Relaying her working attitude and her interaction with the actors, she felt honored to work with a formidable cast.

“I have two principles for casting, what the audience wants to see and the actors that the crew want to work with. All the actors were interested when they received the script. We had a meeting and they asked sophisticated and insightful questions. If this was a dance, we have fast and slow movements, so everything was great with them.”

Emphasizing the synergy of the cast and crew, she remarked how it is important to have respect. She takes pride in how the cast has that attitude; thus the chemistry is amazing.

Director Kim also talked about her fascination with writer Jung. Her compelling skill as a writer brought up Director Kim’s feelings from her 20s and 30s.

Adding to that, she is also elated to work with production designer the production designer and the composer in the series.

“Designer Yoo looks deep into the story. He perfectly connects the settings. There are unique places and spaces that are something new in the drama. Meanwhile, Composer Park worked with me in Vincenzo so we brought in classic music and energetic music. So, we experimented on it.”

Kim Go Eun’s New Acting Challenge

Fresh from the success of her sassy and affecting performance in Yumi’s Cells; Kim Go Eun takes on another interesting character.

Responding to the reason why she chose Little Women as her new work, she said:

“We have this perfect cast and I’m honored to be with the cast. I’m blissful. The cast and the crew are the reasons why I held tight to this drama.”

Providing a preview of her character; Kim Adorably quipped on the x-factor of Oh In-ju.

“I don’t know if Writer Jung intended In-ju to be funny. It is a dark drama but I had a lot of funny moments. I’m really proud that this drama is not just dark. I’m the one who takes charge of the humor. Ha-jun wants to be funny but I told him not to steal my moment.”

Praising her co-stars, she divulged the attention of Nam Ji Hyun to her role.

“Ji-hyun is like a real reporter. She’s on a different level. I have faith and high respect for her.”

Aside from her character’s love for money Kim Go Eun also expounds on how she went through decorating In-ju.

“Doing action scenes is actually easier, what’s difficult is in the beginning I have to immerse into the character. For about two months I had to do it. In-ju holds different parts and motivations inside her. Depending on how I portray her, it could go the wrong way. So, I was cautious. After I got over it, I was happy to be filming.”

Lastly, she shared what to anticipate in the series.

“When I read the script, the story did not play how I perceived it to be. At some point, I stopped making predictions. It will be an enjoyable ride.”

Nam Ji Hyun’s Passionate Portrayal

Playing the middle sister Oh In-kyung in Little Women, Nam Ji Hyun also disclosed details about her character. In analyzing her character, she has assessed how In-kyung is someone who always puts into action her goals.

“The roles I played before were lovely and cheerful. In-kyung has a darker and richer color. She’s full of energy and goal-oriented. She’s passionate and rational at the same time. She has these two sides that appeal to me. She switches from being passionate and reasonable.”

Echoing the same pleasant energy Kim had working with them, she mentioned how looking at Park Ji Hoo who looks small and precious really drives anyone to protect her.

Nam Ji Hyun also communicated a memorable line that sums up her character conviction.

Park Ji Hoo’s Driven Character

The star of All Of Us Are Dead eloquently revealed her insights into the series and her character. That made her onscreen sisters feel so proud like they raised her on their own.

Delineating her character, the rising actress divulged that In-hye tries not to be a burden to her sisters so she wants to be at the top.

“I learned a lot in this drama. She is very artistic but she kept it to herself. She strives to go to the top so she would appear ambitious. I tried to portray her realistic sides.”

Park Ji Hoo relays how the script piqued her interest and realized that it was also difficult. Accordingly, she’s grateful for learning a lot while working on the series.

“I really felt it personally how In-hye was receiving love from her sisters.”

He also articulately expressed gratefulness to the creative team. His words were praised by his co-stars who can’t add any more words to his vivid description.
