Exploring the working life of people at Korea’s Meteorological Administration, Park Min Young and Song Kang are confirmed on JTBC’s upcoming series.
Joining them in the main cast are Yoon Park and Yura. Titled Forecasting Love and Weather, the series will broadcast in the first half of 2022.
Just like its workplace setting, the drama aims to depict the life and love stories of the people like the steamy tropical night and unpredictable local heavy rain. Interestingly, while weather forecasting is closely connected to our daily lives, it has not been covered fully yet in K-Dramaland. Thus, expectations soar high for this latest offering from JTBC.
Helming Forecasting Love and Weather is Director Cha Young Hoon of When The Camellia Blooms and Bridal Mask fame. Creator Kang Eun Kyung who created popular works such as The World of the Married and Misty collaborates with writer Seon-yeong from Line.
Lead Cast + Character Sketches
First, Park Min Young takes on the role of Jin Ha-kyung, the general forecaster of the 2nd Division of the Korea Meteorological Administration. She is straightforward, highly organized and does her job efficiently. Because of her strict working goals and personality, she draws a clear line between work and human relationships.
Dubbed as rom-com queen, the actress previously worked in recent dramas When The Weather is Fine, Her Private Life and What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.
Suiting up to the role of Lee Si-woo is Song Kang. He is in charge of Special Reporting Division 2 of the Korea Meteorological Administration. A free-spirited and unconventional thinker, there is nothing he can’t do if he is determined. His IQ is 150, but his sole fascination is the weather.
Currently labeled as small screen’s “trend-setter”, the actor has continuously scored well-loved projects including Nevertheless, Navillera, Love Alarm and Sweet Home.
Yoon Park portrays Han Ki-joon, the spokesperson of Korea Meteorological Administration. Persuasive and always sticking to logic, he has been a model student so his tolerance for failure is weak.
His most recent dramas include Birthcare Center and Search. He is also appearing in the upcoming tvN drama You Are My Spring.
Lastly, Girl’s Day’s Yura takes the role of Cha Yoo-jin, a weather reporter for a daily newspaper. She became a media reporter imagining she would send articles scouted from big scoop, but she was assigned to work on the weather forecast. At first, she thought it was boring, but she fell in love with the unpredictable weather and the Meteorological Agency, where accidents never cease.
Yura last worked on Find Me in Your Memory and will also appear in Now We’re Breaking Up this season.
Forecasting Love and Weather will be broadcast in the second half of 2022.
