Mayor Choi comes in time to visit Chang-ho before he meets Gong Ji-hoon. However, the warden blocks the mayor and Chang-ho from exchanging words.
Only there to watch Ji-hoon and Chang-ho, Mayor Choi stands next to Chang-ho as they write the names of the drug clients.
Everyone becomes shocked and speechless as the warden opens the papers with the matching names of drug clients. Chang-ho also calls out the lack of ‘s’ in Lucas Martins.
Asking for the money from Chang-ho, Gong Ji-hoon feels confident with Peter Hong, the handler of their fund, interrogated by the prosecution.
Retelling his story when he was about to take his life, Peter Hong also shares the day he met ‘big mouse’ once.
The prosecutor shows the picture of Chang-ho, and Peter Hong does not recognize him.
Straight to the point, the prosecutor promises probation for Peter Hong if he gives testimony that Chang-ho is ‘big mouse’ so that he could close the case.
Meanwhile, Ji-hoon doubts the coincidence of Mayor Choi hiring Chang-ho, who turns out to be ‘big mouse’. He also suspects the mayor of being the real ‘big mouse’.
Fearful of the retaliation of the organization of ‘big mouse’, Peter Hong becomes hesitant during interrogation.
Sitting beside Peter, Chang-ho sits as ‘big mouse’ and says that he matched the names with Ji-hoon’s because of a paper passed on to him.
Taking insulin shots on his own, Peter Hong’s mouth foams, and dies in the interrogation room.
“You gamble based on your instinct, not on human relations.”
Mi-ho gets excluded from the scheduled service in the penitentiary, but she shows that she is unbothered by how she is treated by the nurses in their ward.
Mayor Choi monitors the meeting of Mi-ho and Ji-hoon, who asks for Professor Seo’s paper. However, Mi-ho walks out on him and is rather eager to get her husband released from prison.
Although Ji-hoon tries to taunt her by saying that Chang-ho is ‘big mouse’, she remembers the scheme Chang-ho told her that he will act like he is ‘big mouse’ to be safe. After that meeting, Mi-ho thanks Mayor Choi for all his help.
Digging into Professor Seo’s life, Mi-ho, her father, and Soon-tae looks into a photo of the late professor in a fishing spot. Visiting that site, they speculate that the professor had an affair.
Distributing the rewards from the bet inside the prison, Jerry and the room leader get shocked that Chairman Yang and his men have bet 50 cards on Chang-ho as ‘big mouse’. Although he is close to the VIPs, the chairman rather believes in his instinct.
Winning also 300 million Won in his bet with the VIPs, Chang-ho gives an extra portion to the warden so that he could rise in his rank and move freely inside prison.
In addition to that, Chang-ho also spends his winnings for a celebration in the penitentiary, which wins the hearts of more prisoners.
“There is no such thing as cheating in war.”
VIPs begin to worry about how ‘big mouse’ would retaliate against them, and Chang-ho strikes a deal with them so that they could remain safe.
Chang-ho proposes they admit to being accomplices in Professor Seo’s death, or else they are at risk of dying mysteriously like others in prison.
The threat somehow pierces through, and makes one of the VIPs nervous while drinking wine.
Seeing how the VIPs reacted, Chang-ho then decides to follow the methods of ‘big mouse’ and follow his own way.
A series of events threatens the VIPs. One passes out while drinking wine, and dreams of Chang-ho while in a state of panic. Another gets electrocuted and is rushed out for medical care.
Mayor Choi visits Chang-ho with a lot of questions, but Chang-ho dictates what to do and reminds the mayor that he was the one who dragged him into the mud with his offer of defending the VIPs.
Drawing blood at night, Mi-ho follows the head nurse who is performing duties absent on the list set by the hospital system. Caught, Mi-ho gets reprimanded by Joo-hee.
Protecting the supply room, Joo-hee also refrains the maintenance person from entering the room.
VIPs beg Ji-hoon to save them from Chang-ho, and Ji-hoon brings this up to Chang-ho. He tries to threaten Chang-ho by reminding him that he could do things to his Mi-ho.
However, Ji-hoon receives a call from his wife who received white flowers that are often used in the funeral. Confirming that, Chang-ho angers Ji-hoon.
“No one here is good. Everyone is a bad guy.”
Frustrated with his situation of having to bow to Chang-ho who appears to be powerful as ‘big mouse’, Ji-hoon becomes eager to kill Chang-ho through Chairman Yang.
Negotiating with Chairman Yang in the gym, Chang-ho beats Dr. Han, one of the VIPs, and talks him out of confessing that he was an accessory and the rest were murderers.
Hanged like how they tortured Chang-ho, Dr. Han gets saved from it as he agrees to follow in confessing about the murder of Professor Seo.
Calling Mi-ho to meet outside, Mayor Choi tells her about his story of becoming a lawyer and feeling betrayed by his father who truly dumped toxic waste in the waters.
In that topic, Mayor Choi reveals to Mi-ho that Chang-ho is ‘big mouse’, and tells her about how Chang-ho was able to name the drug clients even though the list he had from the mayor was false.
Although she trusts her husband, Mi-ho cries on the bus after hearing from her father that Chang-ho was able to pay his debt immediately.
Big Mouth Episode 5 Musings
Chang-ho matched the names Gong Ji-hoon wrote. However, there is still room for doubt, and his status could still change.
For now, it is Chang-ho who is called ‘big mouse’. The mystery still remains since no one has confirmed the face of ‘big mouse’.
Based on Chang-ho’s point of view, he is only trying to act like ‘big mouse’. His measures are extreme, and it is indeed aligned with the character of ‘big mouse’.
With Mi-ho’s investigations and suspicions inside Gucheon University Hospital, it appears that there’s much more to uncover in the hospital’s secrets.
A mind game also awaits Mi-ho since Mayor Choi is convincing her that Chang-ho is ‘big mouse’ with all that happened recently.
