For now, Hwal and Sang-un enter a truce to collaborate first to kill an evil villain in the 6th episode of Bulgasal: The Immortal Souls.
Interestingly, Hwal is reunited with people from his past life in a united goal. But can they endure the strength of their opponent?

Bulgasal: Immortal Souls Episode 6 Key Moments
Saving Si-ho
Agreeing to help Sang-un save her sister, the two also conspire with Detective Kwon to help find a possible place where the abducted Si-ho was brought in. From Detective Kwon’s tip, they head to the place and encounter the monster-reincarnated-human.
While Hwal fights the monster, Detective Kwon gets an attack of a memory from his previous life when he lost his arm to the monster. Tending on Detective Kwon’s quick disillusionment, the monster took advantage and escapes.
At that same moment, Sang-un searches the place for Si-ho and successfully rescues her. Fearing for her sister’s life, she orders him to go out and look for Hwal. But the same monster attacks her. Hwal saves her and she finds Si-ho who refuses to leave her.
After a grueling fight with the monster, Hwal loses consciousness. Sang-un asks Detective Kwon to let them leave the premises before the police arrive.
Confused at why her sister is helping Hwal, Sang-un explains that he’s the bulgasal they need to kill the bulgasal who killed their family. She declares he’s going to be the sword she would need.
Reviving Hwal
Back at Hwal’s abode, Sang-un picks on Do-yun’s suggestion of doing CPR to revive the unconscious bulgasal. Just when she’s losing hope, he finally opened his eyes. But Hwal orders her to leave the room as he does his own way of curing his wounded leg.
Si-ho also finally believes her sister’s stories. Later, Sang-un even fetches Hwal’s animal blood drink since he can barely move with his bad leg. When he asked why she saved his life, she responds to her need for him to kill the other evil bulgasal.
He then reveals the name of the bulgasal she wants to kill. A circle of people all intent to kill Ok Eul Tae, the powerful bulgasal, gather at Hwal’s house. Meanwhile, Eul-tae has wrapped up the death of the monster as suicide and reveals his connection to the mayor of the city.
Discovering Sang-un’s sprained ankle, Hwal deftly tends on her swollen ankle. While conversing about the curse Sang-un’s past self gave to him, they both learn that only her deceased sister had the scar, but not Sang-un.
Bulgasal: Immortal Souls Episode 6 Musings
Crucial information to how the cursed might have morphed following a twin reincarnation of Sang-un most likely will be highlighted in the subsequent episodes of Bulgasal: Immortal Souls.
It was established previously how the bulgasal’s power might have retained some of her abilities aside from Hwal’s soul at every rebirth of hers. Both can detect nearby monsters-turned-human. But while Sang-yun can remember the past lives, Sang-un cannot. But she possesses a disarming ability that can trance a bulgasal or monster like what we saw previously when faced with urgent danger.
We can bet that Ok Eul-tae has inside knowledge of the intricate life of a bulgasal. Right now, we still don’t know how he crossed paths with the reincarnating bulgasal who also cursed him.
Lee Joon reminds me of Namgoong Min before his transition to hero roles. His villain roles were all phenomenal and distinct flavors. The same way as Lee Joon is decorating Ok Eul Tae right now.
Episode 6 of Bulgasal shows glimpses of how merciless and crazy bad the antagonist of the series is. Hwal and company are definitely up for an impossible feat. Can they withstand the invincible Ok Eul-tae driven to kill Sang-un?
