1000 Years Ago
Ok Eul-tae sees Hwal being helped by Sang-un and Detective Kwon. A flashback reveals how a thousand years ago, Eul-tae and Detective Kwon are father and son. The former though is not favored. Learning of Si-ho’s pregnancy, the unfamiliar family also makes a small celebration.

Sharing his problem to Hwal, the latter advises not to help the supporter. Meanwhile, Hwal asks the private detective who is also friends with Detective Kwon to find out who the supporter of Do-yun.
Do-yun informs Eul-tae he can’t bring Sang-un but Eul-tae calmly responds that if he brings Sang-un himself it might harm the people in the house.
He appeals again and uses how he is making a favor like how he fervently did when he was young.

Bulgasal: Immortal Souls Episodes 9 Musings
Sporting a strong male lead line, Bulgasal: Immortal Souls interestingly heightens the emotions and thrill because of Hwal, Eul-tae and Do-yun. Perhaps, the subdued bromance is one of the things that makes us stay tuned to the series end game.
Given its established premise, we knew Do-yun is linked to Hwal’s past, and most of us had deduced already that he could be A-chan. If Ok Eul-tae purposely approached Do-yun as another card he can use to lure Hwal, that is likely possible. Although we can feel that he has also grown fond of Do-yun.
The event a thousand years ago might lean to the missing puzzle on Eul-tae’s bulgasal root. We learned that Sang-un’s bulgasal life had an encounter with him. But since he also used to be a human, we shall expect how he turned into a bulgasal.
Si-ho gravitating towards Do-yun springs from their old connection as mother and child. From the preview of the 10th episode, preparations for a heartbreaking moment should be done.
