Feeling sorry and overwhelmed by her sisters’ routine meddling in her life, Oh In-hye makes a firm decision to leave home in the 3rd episode of Little Women.

Little Women Episode 3 Highlights
Witnessing Director Shin’s death, In-joo got more agitated with her situation. She relays to Do-il the words she heard from Director Shin. Thankfully, Do-il calms and reassures her to stay focused on the situation she’s in.
Meanwhile, In-kyung deduces In-hye’s painting was sold to Park Jae Sang’s daughter, Hyo-rin, who is her sister’s friend. She attempts to get In-hye out of the party celebrating Hyo-rin’s painting contest win but was subdued by Park Jae-sang’s aides.
Frustrated, she buys alcohol at the nearby convenience store, climbs a CCTV post and creates a ruckus blabbing disrespectful words. In the end, In-hye accepts the humiliation made by her sister and drags her out of the place.
The next day, In-kyung wakes up to In-hye’s angry notice that she does not want to communicate with her. At work, she also gets into another work problem because of her drunken misbehavior to a Seoul mayoral candidate.
“Game changer. You are a small storm In-ju. No matter where you go, you change the flow of the air, although you don’t seem to notice it.”
Remembering Hwa-young’s word to show the orchid name “princess” to the former CEO of the company, In-joo visited him at the psychiatric hospital he’s admitted to. With the tip given by her friend that the CEO is also an outcast, she relays her fears about the sudden change that occurred in her life.
Giving her practical advice to spend the money, he also gives her the crucial ledgers bearing the 70 billion slush fund. When Do-il announced his presence, In-joo escapes but is found by him later at a bus stop.
Without having much choice, In-joo proposes they collaborate and split the revenue. Do-il also suggests she put the ledgers in a bank’s vault.
Ranting about her sorry life to her friend Jong-ho, they stumbled on crucial information about the case In-kyung is probing. When she retrieved the CCTV of the victim, they noticed something small and blue that the victim sniffed before dying.
Fortunately, Jong-ho who came with her to meet the witness who died took a blue orchid which apparently is the same thing that the victim smelled before dying.
“Nothing in this world is free. If you owe someone beyond what you can pay off, God knows what you’ll have to give in later.”
In-hye informs In-joo that she will be leaving for Boston to be with Hyo-rin since her mother can’t accompany her because of the election coming up.
Firmly refusing her request, In-ju painfully listens to her words of how hard it’s been to live with them in the house. Adding salt to In-ju’s wound, she tells her sister that it’s her dream to get herself out of the house.
Dressed in pricey outfit, In-joo meets Won Sang-ah and gives the money spent for In-hye’s stay in Boston. But Hyo-rin’s mother refuses to accept the money as payment since In-hye is a scholar of the foundation established by her husband.
She also presents the shocking dark paintings that In-hye submitted to secure a spot at the Boston art school where she will study with Hyo-rin. Adding to her woes, In-kyung found out about the stack of money she hid inside the storage boxes.
Insisting to return the money, In-joo refuses and brings up the story of their younger sibling which In-kyung denies remembering. However, In-joo tells her how In-hye knows about that sister and it could have been only her who would have told her about it.
“Can you betray someone who loves you the most in the world?”
With her backpack full of money, In-joo visits their rich Great Aunt and asks her to find an apartment for her to solve their dire situation. Making the old lady feel guilty, her convincing pitch pierces through and In-ju got a positive answer.
Staying at Hyo-rin’s house, In-hye is caught by Park Jae-sang stealing a doll and narrates how he has made his father-in-law trust him more than his own son. Sensing the ambition and similarity with In-hye, he asks her if she can betray someone who truly loves her.
Little Women Episode 3 Musings
Little Women has reeled viewers into Oh sisters’ story including their problems just in the third episode. Amazing in their portrayals the whole cast is really making us anticipate what kind of possible showdowns to expect between the ordinary sisters and the power-wielding family.
Accordingly, it’s hard to establish trust with how mercurial the characters are in this series. Questioning Do-il’s intention is given and so are the two-faced parents of Hyo-rin.
Inescapably, viewers are led to the varying reactions of Oh siblings in their undertakings which seemingly appears to be the general response regular people do when facing predicaments.
Growing up in an underprivileged environment, the Oh sisters had different ways of coping with the challenges thrown at them. But the scars have stayed in the deepest recesses of their memories. Sometimes, it bites back like how In-joo realized the burden has made her sweet youngest sister lose the cheerfulness that her age should have been enjoying.
The orchid named “ghost of Vietnam” (thanks Jong-ho) mounts its significant presence in the looming battle of the older Oh sisters against Hyo-rin’s parents. Just like how important the missing KRW70 billion is.
Will In-hye say yes to Park Jae-sang proposal? Can In-joo and In-kyung reach a compromise with their clashing convictions?
