Oh sisters are pushed to wage what they can against the rich and powerful in the 7th and 8th episodes of Little Women.

Little Women Episode 7 & 8 Highlights
Persistent in her goal, In-kyung stumbles on the connection of her Great Aunt to a shady organization. When she gets home, she also finds her sister In-joo holding the lifeless body of their Great Aunt.
Blaming herself for the misfortunes that befell their family; In-joo faints just when Do-il arrived. In-kyung also spots the blue orchid beside Great Aunt.
“Find out who killed Hwa-young and my Great Aunt. After that, all the money will be yours.”
After the funeral, In-joo inquires Sang-ah about the blue orchid she gave her. Sang-ah chronicles how Great Aunt used to be a nurse in their house and was there for her in the times when she needed emotional strength.
She adds how her words helped her survive the ordeals she had to go through after her mother’s death. She also hopes that In-joo will take the same words and assures her the blue orchid she gave does not have anything to do with Great Aunt’s death as it is a token of their friendship.
Responding to how Sang-ah chose not to confront her past overwhelming nightmares, In-joo told her that she will not be like her. Instead, she will get to the bottom of Great Aunt’s mysterious death, and won’t trust her until then.
At the reading of Great Aunt’s will, her closest relatives denounce the inheritance because of the debts incurred by the deceased. In-kyung solely agrees to claim what was given to her and starts digging about Jeongran society further.
Then, the former butler of Great Aunt turns himself in as the murderer directing viewers to watch his YouTube channel.
In-kyung also learns from In-joo about the blue orchid given to her by Sang-ah which links to Jeongran Society. Jong-ho also arrives while the two sisters talk to point out that the blue orchid appears in the video.
“Young people seem unable to realize that life doesn’t go as planned.”
Searching for the blue orchid, In-kyung discovered a secret room and finds the blue orchid in the video in one of the drawers.
She declares pursuing the truth about Jeongran Society, and the blue orchid that appears next to dead bodies. Supporting her sister, In-joo reveals the ₩70 billion money in Singapore under her name should help them after In-kyung published the story. The deal is sealed between them and they prepare for their mission.
Only two members of Jeongran Society whose members met during the Vietnam War at a military camp hospital are surviving, the other one is missing. His name is Choi Hee-jae, also the father of Do-il.
“If you will meet Do-il, tell him that my answer to his question is ‘no’. Tell him that if he wants to find the evidence, he should start at Baramjae and head northeast by 23 degrees for one kilometer.”
Starting their investigation, In-joo and In-kyung meet Do-il’s mother who has been serving jail time that can be traced to Jeongran society. At first, indifferent to the sisters’ purpose in meeting her, they convince her by appealing to her motherly love to protect her son. Do-il’s mother also asks them to relay a message to her son that will help with his investigation.
Back at Park family’s mansion, while Hyorin’s parents go for another round of fight; the two decide to enter the room Sang-ah told them not to go to. There they find old pictures of Sang-ah that have been cut purposely to not show the person beside young girl Sang-ah. They also discover a doll house that really looks like the miniature version of Hwa-young’s death scene.
In the morning, Park Jae-sang meets the girls and tells his daughter that her mother is sick. Thus, she will be in a closed room until she gets better. He also asks In-hye to help Hyorin with the current situation.
Proceeding with his campaign, Jae-sang learns from his secretary that the older Oh sisters visited Do-il’s mother. He orders not to mind Oh sisters but to tail Do-il.
In-joo meets Do-il and relays his mother’s message. Calling off the Singapore deal, In-joo loops him in about the plan to expose Jae-sang’s evil deeds along with the ledger in her possession.
Responding to her proposal, Do-il also tells him about Sang-ah’s current situation and warns her that her life is officially at risk.
Following Do-il in the direction given by her mother, In-kyung and Jong-ho locate the missing Choi Hee-jae. Risking her arm being bitten by Hee-jae’s dog, they were let into his abode. But he kept mum on their questions about Jeongran Society.
“I will remember this day. This will be the last birthday that I will be poor. The day I bought everything I had ever wanted.”
Tipping Jae-sang about his father’s location, trained assassins were sent only to suffer death inside the house.
Celebrating her birthday at the restaurant introduced by Hwayoung, In-joo invited Do-il. Her happy birthday turns sad when Do-il alerts him that someone posing as her attended the auction.
Along with that, the paper company in Singapore is under investigation and the money under her name is also in danger in case the poser withdraws it.
Unknown to In-joo, Do-il was given a task by Jae-sang to kill In-joo and the deadline is by 12 midnight the next day. Telling In-kyung about her sudden change of plans, In-joo gives instructions to her sisters about their plans.
In-kyung who met with a Vietnam war veteran gets information about how Choi Hee-jae is part of an elite team who was sent to the war but survived the ordeal and returned seemingly possessed.
Later, Choi Hee-jae breaks into Great Aunt’s house cutting a deal with In-kyung to reveal the atrocities of Jae-sang in one go. However, In-kyung insists on the proper steps to be done and secures an exclusive interview that will be aired during primetime news.
Arriving in Singapore, In-joo is greeted with utmost respect and service as the MIP of the International Orchid Society.
Strangely though, they realize that poser Oh In-joo apparently has the same face as In-joo. People seem to recognize her as well proving how SG In-joo is really maximizing the takeover of In-joo’s identity.
“Since when did I start playing the lead?”
After bidding for the orchid auction, things take an unexpected turn for In-joo. As she joins Do-il to withdraw the 70 billion from seven banks, she confronts a secret message just when they are down to the last bank. The message backs up In-kyung’s message from In-hye to be wary of Do-il since Park Jae-sang might be brewing something.
Thinking Hwa-young sent the message as all clues point to her, she disregards Do-il’s advice not to trust anyone or anything but the gun he gave her and the money. She follows the instructions on the note and rides a car waiting for her.
En route to the destination, the car she’s in got bumped into by a truck. At the hospital, she had an epiphany of Hwa-young encouraging her to leave the emergency room with the luggage bearing money. She did so before Do-il arrived and goes to Hwa-young’s apartment.
Seeing a glass of welcome drinks, In-joo drinks it right away just as the presence of someone coming alerts her.
The girl in the yellow dress finally appears and it turns out to be Sang-ah. Revealing In-joo is the lead star of the play she just directed, In-joo fights for consciousness hearing she’s about to die in a foreign country.
Reminding Sang-ah of the money, the former happily checks on it and finds bricks inside. Behind her In-joo stands up summoning her last straw of strength and points a gun at her.
Little Women Episode 7 & 8 Musings
If you are a person with trust issues, watching Little Women might worsen your situation, to be honest. After the character introductions and emotional outbursts come the thrilling intrigues sprinkled in the story.
Secrets also abound in this series: secret room, secret organization, secret deal, secret fund, secret flower, and so on. Amidst the showcase of cryptic plot twists, the series continues to keep the viewers’ interest flowing.
Much credit is to be given to Uhm Ji Won for making Sang-ah so compelling to watch. We don’t know if she’s getting extra lessons from Uhm Ki Joon, but her creepy but still classy character really makes us think that more prayers for Oh sisters are really needed.
With the plot twist at the end of the story revealing Sang-ah’s playwright’s frustration, the penultimate episodes this weekend draw interest. Based on the preview, it is still business as usual with a hinted premeditated backup plan already decided by In-joo and Do-il.
Accordingly, we don’t know if In-joo went into an extension of an epiphany or if she can pull the trigger before succumbing to losing consciousness.
Shifting full throttle to In-kyung’s fight against Park Jae-sang, let’s hope the valiant reporter can pull off her mission. Correspondingly, while the older Oh sisters are in a PK battle mode with Sang-ah and Jae-sang; In-hye is keen to protect her friend from the ill-intending affairs of her parents.
