Seung-Yoo continues with his ways to uncover the injustices happening at Asung high school in the 9th episode of Melancholia.
With this, Seung-Yoo pursues Yoon-Soo to work together with him. However, Yoon-Soo was firm that she can execute her plan without the help of Seung-Yoo.

Melancholia Episode 9 Key Moments
Asung High School Succumbs Into an Issue
After the issue of Ji-Na and Si-An, Seung-Yoo got live footage of Ji-na copying the work of Si-An.
Seung-Yoo went to Prinicipal Noh and let her watch what Ji-na did. Principal Noh apologizes and affirms him that she would support his plans in building the National Mathematics Museum. However, he said that he wanted to work alone.
Later on, a piece of news has been spreading that Asung High School gives easy questions to certain students to their entrance exams. This leaves Principal Noh frustrated and immediately tracks down who the writer is.
Assembly Man Sung told Prinicipal Noh that she should keep an eye on Seung-Yoo and remove him immediately.
Seung-Yoo Offers in Working Together With Yoon-Soo
Seung-Yoo always keeps in mind the goal that he wants to attain; to give justice and expose the truth on what happened in the scandal that happened years ago.
He talks to Yoon-Soo and asks her if she wants to work with him and clear their names together with their reputation. However, she doesn’t want to because the presence of Seung-Yoo is not on her plan.
Moreover, it seems that Ye-Rin has some lingering feelings towards Seung-Yoo. In a scene, Seung-Yoo talks to Ye-Rin and says that he wants them to be closer and forget about the past.
Seung-Yoo said that he understands and that Ye-Rin might have a reason why she gave the photo to Principal Noh. When Ye-Rin was opening up her reason for doing so, Kyu-Young interrupted the two.
Yoon-Soo’s World is Getting Smaller
It is given that Yoon-Soo wants to keep herself hidden from all the people at Asung highschool. However, it seems the people at Asung high school would eventually find out Yoon-Soo is back.
When Seung-Yoo had a soft opening of the Mathematics Museum, he was invited to a dinner with the assemblymen, and minister of education together with Principal Noh. Seung-Yoo saw a white car that looks like Yoon-Soo’s.
Seung-Yoo thought that maybe Yoon-Soo is also in the same place. He saw a pair of women’s shoes in one of the rooms and remembered that it is the shoes of Yoon-Soo. He immediately texted her, and Yoon-Soo replied that she’s in that place.
Ending the episode, Seung-Yoo got worried that Principal Noh and the others might see Yoon-Soo. He told Yoon-Soo to come out, and Seung-Yoo hides her with all his might, even though Principal Noh is hunting them.
Melancholia Episode 9 Musings
The 9th episode of Melancholia focuses more on the tactics of Seung-Yoo and Yoon-Soo to regain their reputation. Sometimes, I get annoyed at Yoon-Soo because she doesn’t want to work with Seung-Yoo and the reasons are taking time to be revealed.
This episode also highlights the care of Seung-Yoo towards Yoon-Soo, even though she keeps pushing him away. I hope that next episode there would be improvements to their relationship.
I also find this episode a bit bland, maybe because there are lots of expected scenes, or maybe the drama is slowly climbing to its climax scenes.
Hopefully, the lead pair makes up soon since they seem to be heading in the same direction.
