Love Is For Suckers Series Highlights

Lingering Notes On Keeping Lasting Romantic Relationships

A big portion of creating a relationship that matters highlight Love Is For Suckers.

Best friends turned lovers Yeo-reum and Jae-hoon – as the central characters – demonstrated a picture of romance that is remotely farced.

Never giving up that his love will be returned, Jae-hoon’s journey reassures the idea that love blossoms over time when you sincerely work for it. Likewise, Yeo-reum’s qualms about requiting the love offered by her closest friend understandably have to go through bouts of frustrating contemplation.

At some point, the indecisiveness hurt not just both of them but viewers who can see how they are totally made for each other.

Remarkably, they thoroughly expressed how important friendship is as the core foundation of an enduring romantic relationship. For the reason that emotional connection drives not the romance but the commitment to stay by each other’s side. As we all know, relationship breakups happen when we can no longer choose that love-fueled connection.

True, Ji-yeon’s one-sided heartfelt adoration didn’t yield the same result. But it speaks of how being honest with what we feel leaves us a life lived without regrets.

Ji-yeon’s brave tackling of refusing Jae-hoon’s protection on camera speaks about how when confronted by pain brought about by unrequited love, you can also opt to express it right away. Her choice to accept the pain and not prolong nor rely on false hope gave admirable growth to her character in the series.

Unreciprocated love when taken as a lesson can go wonders, and not just pain. In fact, it could be a silent blessing, a way of telling us that it didn’t work out because it’s not meant for us.

Inspiring Lessons From Featured Character Development

Teeming with pieces of advice on relationships, career, and life; Love is for Suckers is endowed with exceptionally contrived characters. Being pragmatic as they can be, led to the overall heartening vibe of the story.

Deprived of love, Chae-ri came strong and annoying in the story initially, but it can’t be helped but root for her. Unable to relay what she truly feels, she put on a strong facade.

She epitomizes the person who became distant and eccentric owing to the lack of human love and interaction. Fortunately for her, she meets optimist Yeo-reum who insists on making her understand that there are people honestly willing to be part of her life. Impeccable as a career-driven individual, her self-assuring attitude is one for the books.

The peek at Chae-ri’s solitary life who craves love, but is too detached to claim it – speaks about the pragmatic and modern meaning of relationships. Something that the series has been expressing well

John Jang maneuvered a superficial character who rediscovered that true connection can only be clinched through shared memories and unpretentious intentions. From apologizing for his misdeed with Yeo-reum and braving the fondness blossoming for Ji-wan, his growth in the story gives us confidence that there are ways we can make up for our lapses.

Another well-sketched character is Ji-wan who is probably the most unadulterated image in the series. We were surprised that she knew all along that Jun-ho has been using her, yet she acknowledged it graciously. She also cleverly used her knowledge to protect the show.

Love Is For Suckers Series Musings

Touching on the reality of how hard for friends to cross the friendship line and become lovers, Love Is For Suckers resonates not only with the same people who can relate to that story, but with anyone who has past relationship hang-ups or unresolved life pains.

That saying that friends can be lovers but lovers can’t be friends attests to the reality that trust and honesty are conditions to be met in those scenarios. A perfect example of this is Yeo-reum who firmly turns her back upon knowing the person she was about to marry can’t be trusted.

An addicting concoction of delightful and emotional narrative, Love Is For Suckers bursts sensible commentary on life and love.

It was consistently engrossing since day 1. Interestingly, the main love story is perfectly attuned to the engrossing side love stories being featured.

Brimming with beautifully crafted confession scenes, it is a highly-recommended salve, especially for single people needing some fluff and a reality check in the presence or lack of romance in their lives.

In addition, two-way friendships and romantic relationships were also impressively highlighted in this drama. Something the people in their 30s and 40s can relate to. It sets the importance of assessing how much emotional baggage you can unload for your friend or partner to help you with. At the same time, a reminder not to be so focused on our own problems and be there for our friends or partners’ predicaments as well.

Communicating emotions is the strongest suit of Love is for Suckers. The characters felt lifted from people resembling our friends or acquaintances going through the same predicaments. Thus, it’s easy to become emotionally invested in the story. Keeping its discerning approach, the narrative layers real actions to situations that anyone can experience.

Initially hooking people in rooting for Jae-hoon’s journey to help Yeo-reum understand that they’ve long been fated to be each other’s true love; the series paraded reliable romantic story tropes.

From friendship turned lovers, missed timings, unrequited love, and so on. Done tastefully, it expounded on the messages vastly spread throughout the story.

But the series truly impressed us by continuously serving profound lessons on love and career. It also reminds us that living life to the fullest means accepting the boring, painful, and blissful parts of it.
