PRESS CONFERENCE: “Let Me Be Your Knight” Warrants Healing Romance Story Plus Standout Music

Let Me Be Your Night kdramadiary

Let Me Be Your Knight Episode 1 Key Moments

With their recent comeback not favored enough by their fans, world-renowned idol band LUNA has to work on gaining brownie points. Having a mercurial leader, Yoon Tae-in (Lee Jun Young) who produces the band’s song is not helping either. Especially since he has a sleepwalking condition.

To address, his night sleeping adventures, the doctor recommends a doctor from the US to aid his treatment. That same doctor is the twin sister to In Yoon-ju (Jung In Sun), a former tour guide who just reached rock bottom. Her boss tricked her and got all her money promising he will help retrieve her old family house.

Without many viable options, she goes to the hotel where her sister stays to ask for help against her pride. However, she got dragged by LUNA’s entertainment agency CEO.

Thinking she is the doctor he’s expecting, the CEO pleaded to help LUNA’s leader, Yoon Tae-in with his sleeping disorder. But, Tae-in appears to stop the deal.

Recognizing each other from awkward encounters they had previously, they are set to embark on sweet bickering.

Let Me Be Your Knight Episode 1 Musings

PD Ahn was not bluffing when he declared at the press conference that Let Me Be Your Knight will feature great music. Because the first dose of the music stage was so electrifying. Viewers who miss the live concert stage will be served a good dose of music.

“Beautiful Breakup” reels you in right away and you can’t help but raise an imaginary light stick while swaying your head.

Spotlighting on the lead pair, the room to explore the supporting characters would most likely happen in the subsequent chapters. Nevertheless, the cushion to allow the relatively newbie actors to settle in the story is a clever move.

At any rate, Lee Jun Young and Jung In Sun have established their footing as lead actors. Anchoring the romance part is expected of them inevitably.

As always, Jung In Sun shows commitment to her role albeit suiting up to a picture of K-Drama female lead we are acquainted with. Why she would not clear the misunderstanding that she’s not her sister, hopefully, will be answered next week.

I’m guessing though, that the bad blood with Tae-in pushed her to accept it. Also, because does not have many options after getting conned. Thus, a free-living condition would benefit her at the moment.

Let Me Be Your Night

While LUNA looks great on the music stage, we hope to see more of their normal interactions. Ga-on’s hero-worship on Tae-in is adorable and we sure can look forward every Sunday for a visual treat from Woo-yeon, Shin and Yoo-chan.

Definitely, we sure want to shield the four members from how temperamental their leader is. Thus, we can root for Yun-ju to bring on the power of warmth and love to cure not just Tae-in’s sleepwalking, but his cold heart.

This series reminds me of my old-school favorite You’re Beautiful. But I agree with PD Ahn on how music dominates the storytelling.  So far, it’s also not a bad thing since the featured tracks and performance stage appear well-executed.

Never miss the music, fun and bickering romance in Let Me Be Your Knight on SBS. International fans can watch it on iQiyi!
