Kim Jae Wook transforms into a painter with an unrivaled sense of decadence in Death’s Game.
Portraying painter Jung Gyu-chul, one of the secret cast, Kim Jae Wook is expected to leave a strong impression as one of the 12 lives and deaths of Choi Yi-jae.
Death’s Game, based on a popular webtoon of the same name centers on Choi Yi-jae (Seo In Guk), who is down on his luck in every facet of his life. Overwhelmed with all of his failures, Yee-jae decides to take his own life and “control death.” Death (Park So Dam) then decides to punish Yi-jae and he is reincarnated 12 different times, living 12 different lives. As a part of his punishment, Yi-jae must stop their imminent deaths.
The extensive, star-studded cast also includes Kim Ji-hoon (The Flower of Evil), Choi Si-won (Love Is for Suckers), Sung Hoon (Woori the Virgin), Kim Kang-Hoon (Racket Boys), Jang Seung-jo (The Good Detective), Lee Jae-wook (Alchemy of Souls), Lee Do-hyun (The Glory), Go Youn-jung (Alchemy of Souls), Kim Jae-uck (Her Private Life), and Oh Jung-se (Revenant). The series is written and directed by Ha Byung-hoon, who previously directed 18 Again, Go Back Couple, and The Sound of My Heart.

In the drama, Jung Gyu-chul is a character who believes that he has some special talent, even though he was born into an ordinary family. Having a different aesthetic sense than others, he was deeply inspired by the scenery he accidentally saw on the road and captured it on canvas. This painting is gaining popularity overseas with favorable reviews for expressing the cruelty deep inside humans.
Gyu-cheol has been monopolizing the attention of critics as he currently prepares a new work.
In the released photos, you can get a glimpse into the world of artist Jung Gyu-chul’s work. Behind him, standing under a red light, there are pictures of strange shapes lined up.
Meanwhile, he was also spotted in an abandoned building with few people around, raising questions. Late at night after the sun has set, his appearance in an abandoned building piques interest.
Attention is also focused on Kim Jae Wook’s performance in expressing the unique aura of the mysterious painter Gyu-chul. As he has previously demonstrated excellent synergy with genre works such as the dramas Voice and The Guest.

The entire Part 1 of Death’s Game will be released on December 15 and the entire Part 2 will be released on January 5th. It can also be viewed in more than 240 countries around the world through Prime Video.
