The past continues to appear in Cha-Woong’s dream, and he discovers the General Spirit’s secret in the 12th episode of From Now On, Showtime.

Fighting for Love
The story continues in Cha-Woong’s dream that retells how the two fought for their ill-fated love. Just when Princess Chung-hwa’s father agreed to her marriage to Poon-Baek, an unexpected circumstance happened.
Haechunmoo, the Prince of Hwangryeo (also known as the evil spirit) fell in love with the princess. He manipulated Chung-hwa’s father to convince him to agree to an arranged marriage.
Since the city of Chung-hwa is just small, her father has no choice but to agree so that they can attain a good relationship with other cities. The princess is devastated because of the sudden announcement. She is keen to marry only Poon-baek.
Haechunmoo isn’t happy that Chung-hwa is in love with someone else. That’s why he plots treason under Poon-baek’s name so that he will be punished. Chung-hwa doesn’t believe this because she knows Poon-baek well.
However, the army captures Poon-baek and puts him in prison. He was even sentenced to death because of this accusation. Chung-hwa tries to talk to Haechunmoo that she would marry him if he can clean the name of Poon-Baek. This only made him angry and more furious.
In the end, when Haechunmoo tries to kill Poon-baek with his sword, Chung-hwa covers him. She collapses to the ground, and Poon-baek uses his powers to kill Haechunmoo. More than this, he cast out an evil spirit in Haechunmoo’s body and sealed it.
Chung-Hwa and Poon-Baek both lie on the ground and hope that they will meet again in their next lives.
The General Spirit’s Secret
Meanwhile, Choi-Gum in the past is princess Chung-Hwa’s bodyguard. He is a magnificent swordsman and is willing to protect the princess with all of his abilities.
However, he made a big decision when Haechunmoo found out that his brother is doing illegal work. To save his brother from this, Choi-Gum joined hands with Haechunmoo in ousting Poon-baek. He’s the one who gave a piece of evidence to the king.
Poon-baek cannot believe that he was betrayed by him. When Choi Gum saw the princess and Poon-Baek lying on the ground lifeless, his conscience keeps bugging him. In the end, he took his own life.
Recreating Memories
After Cha-Woong saw what happened to their past lives, he finally woke up from his deep sleep. He hugs Seul-hae tightly and is thankful that they are together again.
He even gave flowers to Seul-hae and is extra kind to everyone. Cha-Woong makes sure that he will spend this lifetime giving Seul-hae the love that she deserves.
Meanwhile, he confronts Choi-Gum and asks for the reason behind his betrayal. Choi-Gum apologizes and kneels in front of Cha-Woong.
New Vessel
As the episode winds down, it looks like the evil spirit hunted for a new vessel. When Tae-choon is running away from Cha-Woong and the team, he encounters Hee-Soo. They ended up in a fight and caused Hee-Soo to have a bleeding hand.
The wound in his hand caught the evil spirit’s attention. Later on, black smoke starts to enter Hee-Soo’s body.
From Now On, Showtime Episode 12 Musings
The latest episode unlocks more secrets about the past, especially the reason why Choi-Gum cannot go to the afterlife. Knowing Cha-Woong, we can expect that he can forgive him after knowing the real story.
Of course, the evil spirit found another way to create havoc again. It is even more dangerous than before because it possessed Hee-Soo’s body. We can expect that a bigger battle is ahead of them. Let’s hope that Cha-Woong’s team is more ready than ever.
Since Hee-Soo is nearer to everyone, he can also cover up because he’s a policeman (not to mention that he just got promoted to a higher position). Teamwork will be the best key to defeating this evil spirit.
