Ghost Doctor Episode 7 Key Moments

“You can pretend to be a genius like Matt Damon, but it takes experience and on-the-job training to be a doctor.”

Waking up in the on-call room, Seung Tak receives several calls from his professors and Chief Ban. Eventually, he picks up the phone when his mom calls.

Perplexed as to why his entire body aches, Seung Tak is concerned about what happened to his arm since it is the part that is particularly sore. He subsequently visits Oh Seung Jo, the patient on whom he operated.

When Seung Tak inquires about whether the patient has awakened, the nurse informs him that he saw him do so just before he left.

Seung Tak then realizes that it has been two hours since he left the patient, and he had previously instructed the nurse to keep a close eye on Seung Jo. He also learns how he injured his arm while monitoring his patient all night and fell to the ground due to his drowsiness.

Bumping into Dr. Kim, Seung Tak wonders if there is another article about him. But, Kim Jae Won asks him how he managed to save the patients in the OR.

Correspondingly, he tells Seung Tak that doctors rely on their experience and on-the-job training to perform successfully during surgeries. He also brought up the doctors’ discussions about how similar the day Professor Cha performed his first solo surgery was to whenever Seung Tak performed in the OR.

“It’ll be great studying tool for juniors. It’s your signature operation record.”

While approaching Seung Tak, Chief Ban and other professors drag him into the conference room, pleading with him to assist them with their surgeries. On the other hand, Seung Tak declines to help them, claiming that his family, particularly his grandfather, has called him.

Chief Ban abruptly interrupts the professors encircling Seung Tak, stressing to him that the patient he is working on is very special. He asks Seung Tak if he is acquainted with Lee Ji Woo. However, Seung Tak is unfamiliar with the patient.

Going out of the room, Seung Tak was stopped by Dr. An to inform him about the operation record of Seung Jo. Whereas, Seung Tak just responds that he has no responsibility regarding the matter considering he is not the lead surgeon on the patient’s record.

Afterwards, Young Min immediately rushes to Seung Tak, begging for a favor to buy him a delicious meal. As Seung Tak refuses, Young Min exclaims that he is not proposing to purchase him a house or a car. Additionally, Young Min mentions that he even wrote Seung Jo’s record for him.

With what Seung Tak just heard, he immediately races to the place where they keep the operation logs to remove the existing file that Young Min has created. Unfortunately, Dr. An obtained Seung Jo’s record before Seung Tak could delete it. Dr. An compares it to the previous records Professor Cha has written for the other patients.

Recalling the day he witnessed Professor Cha construct the patient’s operation record, he finds it bewildering that the records’ drawing and handwriting are identical. He had formerly commended him, remarking that his operation records would assist juniors in learning about surgery.

“I can’t believe you’re staring at another woman besides Dr. Jang.”

Uncertain once more of where he is, Seung Tak regains his body back as he stands outside a patient’s room with Young Min in front of him. He consequently teases Young Min for staring at another woman besides Dr. Jang.

At the same time, Seung Tak recollects where he had seen the woman before. It was from Young Min’s apartment, which proves that he is a solid Idol fan because of the posters and merchandise he purchased.

Unexpectedly, Kim Jae Won appears out of nowhere and asks Seung Tak whether he, too, is a Jessica fan. Kim Jae Won then discerns why Seung Tak changes his mind from rejecting the surgery to accepting it.

Seung Tak progressively realizes that it was actually Young Min who agreed to operate on Lee Ji Woo.

“Let’s end our deal. This doesn’t suit me. I can’t stand it.”

Still adamant in his decision, Seung Tak takes the day off from the hospital on the same day Lee Ji Woo is scheduled to have surgery. All preparations for her procedure have been completed, and the surgeons are also set.

Meanwhile, Young Min worries about the patient’s condition as there is still no sign of Seung Tak and Professor Han is presently leading Ji Woo’s surgery, which he performed incorrectly.

Surprisingly, Seung Tak arrives in the OR at precisely the right time and leads the subsequent successful surgery.

Outside the OR, Young Min was ready to argue with Seung Tak when he stopped him and revealed to him that if he continues to enter his body, he will die. Seung Tak then breaches their agreement since he can no longer bear it and it does not benefit him in terms of saving lives.

Following Seung Tak to the ER and utterly ignoring him, Young Min questions him about why he went through with the operation when he could have chosen not to. Conversely, Seung Tak answers that he reminds him of someone for whom the patient’s life is the entire world.

Ghost Doctor Episode 7 Musings

Ghost Doctor Episode 7 aims to enlighten us on what it takes to be a real doctor. First, Dr. Kim notifies Seung Tak in this episode that being a doctor requires experience, rigor, and successfully completing difficult surgeries. Whereas Professor Cha and Seung Tak have demonstrated to us that a true doctor is motivated by the desire to save someone’s life.

Additionally, Dr. An slowly reassembles the pieces but is quite perplexed that Professor Cha possesses Seung Tak’s body, given the multiple instances in which Seung Tak behaves like Cha Young Min.

This chapter is notable for its progression, as Seung Tak learns to be less hostile toward Cha Young Min. He cares for him to the point where he wishes Young Min might live as a human being rather than a ghost.

Likewise, his way of avoiding Young Min possessing him warms our hearts even more, especially once he hears from the veteran ghost that he could die if he continues to inhabit his body.

Not only has Seung Tak improved in character, but even Professor Cha, who was formerly harsh to his patients, now exemplifies his compassionate side by watching Oh Seung Jo all night and expressing real joy at seeing him recover.

Besides that, he wanted to fulfill the promise she made to Lee Ji Woo by acquiring Seung Tak in order to operate on her. Fortunately, the procedure went well because Seung Tak eventually changed his mind.
