Let Me Be Your Knight Episode 4 Key Moments
“I’ve never seen you talk this much before.”
Struggling to escape Tae-in’s grasp, Yun-ju listens to what he’s seeing in his agonizing dream. She appeases his weary heart and assures him that he’s not a failure. Pulling him to her embrace, she tells him everything’s going to be okay.
The next day, Tae-in wakes up at the sight of Yun-ju beside him. He panics and remembers vaguely what happened. Instead of being apologetic, he takes her kindness as a scheme to get closer to him. Chiding him for being ungrateful, she demands an apology.
When he demands to know why she was helping, she tells him straight how she knows he’s in deep pain and that he didn’t mean to hurt her. Awkwardly, Tae-in promises to make up for his act.
After sipping Woo-yeon’s brewed coffee, Yun-ju checks the strangle mark on her neck and reckons how she witnessed Tae-in’s father’s harsh words. Going back to her reality, she tells herself not to get swayed away. Seeing Ga-on about to go to the gym, Yun-ju drags Tae-in to tag along with his judo activity.
Adorably, Ga-on makes no hesitation in throwing his favorite hyung who can’t keep up with his skill and looks down on Judo as a sports game. Surprised at how chatty Ga-on can get explaining his favorite high-class sports, Tae-in learns the value of respect made Ga-on pick Judo out of all the available martial arts there is.
Handing drinks to the boys, Yun-ju forces her patient to tackle some judo moves, but ends up in an awkward physically close situation with Tae-in.
“It’s a present for an employee in a special circumstance.”
Bothered by the bruise he caused on Yun-ju’s neck, Tae-in finds himself checking out scarves inside a mall. When the sales clerk asked if he was buying for a girlfriend, he strongly denounced his intent is meant for an employee. However, Woo-yeon, who previously saw the bruise was also bothered about it and beats him to give Yun-ju a scarf gift.
When a blind item hinting to be related to Shin broke out, CEO Moon checks him right away, but he denies the rumor. Announcing their practice for the upcoming Green Concert event, the band members have different opinions on the rearrangement that Tae-in will do.
Unable to find his music rhythm, Tae-in heads out and checks on the camper outside his room. Yun-ju also prepares a sugary drink to up his energy. Checking if he’s having a hard time, Tae-in denies ever experiencing being stuck with his thoughts.
Yun-ju shares how she once was comforted by Tae-in’s music and hums the tune of what he played when she was on the brink of losing hope in life. Recognizing the melody as the first song he wrote for Luna, Yun-ju feels the one she listened to was a bit different. Her suggestion finally pushes Tae-in’s missing music genius self to work on the rearrangement.
Subduing the perky beat of the song to a comforting tune, Tae-in plays the piano singing his heart out to his sole audience – Yun-ju.
“I will stay awake. So, get going!”
It’s D-DAY to Green Concert and the manager wakes up the band members loudly when they barely got enough sleep after pulling out an all-nighter. At the soundcheck, a newbie group with a member that Ga-on seems to know caused him to mess up the practice. Tae-in reminds him to focus while his other two hyungs are worried about him.
Ignored by Ji-yeon since the blind item news, Shin continuously sends messages to his lover. Unknown to her, a female idol who is obsessed with him confronts Ji-yeon mocking the possibility of the rumor to be true anyway because of Ji-yeon’s failed marriage.
Resigned to keep an eye on Tae-in, despite her tummy’s grumbling, Yun-ju bears with it worried that her patient might go for another sleepwalking episode if he dozes off. But Tae-in forces her to go with her business. Quickly relieving her tummy, Yun-ju was asked by Ji-yeon to help zip her dress when they meet at the washroom.
Unfortunately, it took her a while, when she returns to the van, Tae-in was no longer there. Desperately searching for Tae-in, she finds him in a nearby forest. Her genuine concern moved Tae-in who appears to have lessened his grouchy attitude towards Yun-ju.
“When I lost everything I worked in an instant, it felt like the world was collapsing.”
Finding an abandoned house, Tae-in and Yun-ju are left with no option but to impose their presence because of the pouring rain. Finding a fireplace, the two bicker for failing to properly set up the fire. But with teamwork, they finally set it aflame.
Both getting warmth from the fireplace, Tae-in notices the scarf on her neck and comments it does not fit her. Feeling petty, he took it from her. Suddenly, he utters thank you to Yun-ju’s surprise. Happy at the faint moment of him warming up, she also apologized for not being able to protect him. But he dismissed it assuring her that she has protected him well enough.
Learning Tae-in’s music stored in his phone might not be recovered anymore, Yun-ju becomes more agitated than him. She shares her previous experience of losing everything in an instant made her feel so helpless. In the end, she wasn’t able to do anything after. Empathizing to her story, Tae-in faintly confessed he was also in the same situation
Deciding to sleep to replenish their strength, Yun-ju ties her arm to Tae-in’s arm with the scarf she got from Woo-yeon. Tae-in relents understanding her reason of how she can wake up in case he will sleepwalk.
When the morning breaks, Tae-in woke up first and stares at Yun-ju’s face while the serene morning sound inspired him. Waking up without Tae-in by her side, Yun-ju sees him outside and thought he was sleepwalking.
He responds by saying her real name sending Yun-ju to a standstill.
Let Me Be Your Knight Episode 4 Musings
That cliffhanger probably would make all fans hope that Tae-in is just sleepwalking because we sure are happy with his improvement. Gone is his downright detached attitude towards Yun-ju. However, this raises concern if he finally settles his trust in her. If he finds out the lie she did, it will break his frail heart.
We can only hope that Tae-in would be understanding of her situation since he can look back on this episode of utter sincere memory between them.
It’s hard not to love the music featured in Let Me Be Your Knight. From “Beautiful Breakup”, “Let Me Be Your Knight”, and “Love Paranoia”, I hope we’ll get to have a mini-concert of all their songs treat before the series ends. If there’s a real MOONLIGHT fandom recruitment, I’m happy to sign up for it.
On that note, special mention to LUNA’s manager for being hands-on with the members when preparing for their schedule. Also, CEO Moon for stepping up to protect his artist.
This episode elaborated the forthcoming individual concerns for LUNA members to tackle. Like Shin’s May-December love affair, Woo-yeon’s growing one-sided adoration to Yun-ju, Ga-on’s painful past and Yoo-chan’s depleting self-esteem. Additionally, characters that would cause contention were also introduced.
I’m impressed with how compact yet engrossing the once-a-week episode of Let Me Be Your Knight, to be honest. Given its relatively humble creative team, the story maintains its steady direction. It continuously strengthens the romantic plot, but ensures all the cast members get their stories told without functioning like fillers.
Next episode, look forward to more details about Ga-on’s acquaintance. Spending a night together creates a new level of connection. We shall see if the same thing will happen between Yun-ju and Tae-in.
