Run Into You

My Perfect Stranger Episodes 5 and 6 Highlights

Previously, Yoon-young realized the last work she was editing by Go Mi-sook is strangely familiar as she connects it to what she was experiencing in her mom’s old hometown.

Surprised to hear her thoughts, Hae-jun loops her into the investigation he’s doing since the events leading to the first murder at Jouri village face irregularities.

Settled at BongBong Teahouse, Yoon-young confessed to the details she knows about the murders to befall at Woojung-ri came from an unpublished manuscript of Go Mi-sook.

Thinking objectively, Hae-jun refutes the possibility just as Yoon-young argues it does not absolve the culprit she has in mind.

When she realized her mom is in the same teahouse as her dad, she interrupts their conversation. Later, she confessed to Hae-jun who she really is which complicates the latter’s probing since Baek Hee-sub is one of the suspects.

Revealing her intention that she does not want her parents to be together, Yoon-young asserts how she understood the ripple effect. However, she wants to give her mom a chance to enjoy her very own life that does not revolve around her uncaring family.

Hae-jun illuminates the situation by making her understand that her mother could have been killed and reveals the trademark left by the murderer.

“Everyone I met on this path was lying.”

Ms. Lee who is about to face her demise as the first victim, apparently is being chased for being a protester in Seoul.

Hae-jun and Yoon-young help her when Detective Baek learned about her situation and was on a mission to apprehend her.

Waiting for the person that Ms. Lee was about to meet before she died, Hae-jun went to the venue and saw Hee-sub. Then, Bum-ryong also arrives and was confronted by Hee-sub on why he stole Ms. Lee’s ring.

To make his probing more complex, following the path Ms. Lee took, he meets Go Min-soo who lied that he was not in the village on the night of the crime. He also bumps into Hee-sub and Bum-ryung near the inn where Ms. Lee was staying.

Unable to reveal the details to Yoon-young since it involves her father, Hae-jun makes an excuse that he did not see the culprit’s face.

Later, he also made sure that the police officers are all in the same drinking place, especially Detective Baek.

“There’s a moment that never ends. Whatever darkness were to befall me in the future, if I could hold on to these shining moments, I thought nothing in the world could scare me.”

Soon-ae knocks at Hae-jun’s door to ask if she can have Yoon-young sleep with her. Coaxing Yoon-young to take the chance to spend quality time with her mother, she obliges.

Unable to sleep, Soon-ae confesses the boy problem she’s having involving Hee-sub. Something that Soon-ae says also came straight from the book Mi-sook stole which Yoon-young knows by heart.

The next day, Hae-jun sends off Ms. Lee. However, the small change he did right away backfire with instantaneous change in 1987. Detective Baek’s children were almost endangered. Luckily, Hae-jun found the detective’s son who almost perished in the fire.

Surmising about the blue-headed man, Yoon-young used a tip she got from Mi-sook and headed to a music record store to find a man wearing a blue cap.

When she meets Hae-jun at night, he apologizes for the harsh words he said since he can’t tell her that Hee-sub is who he saw at Bong Bong Tea House. However, Yoon-young did not see her 1987 father but her uncle, Baek Yoo-sub.

In the epilogue, Yoo-sub lent his cap to Hee-sub that’s why when he entered the tea house for his meeting with Bum-ryung, Hae-jun thought he was what they were looking for.

My Perfect Stranger Episodes 5 and 6 Musings

Seamlessly thrilling viewers with its subtle but addicting thrill, My Perfect Stranger continuously serves plot surprises worth investing in.

Now that a new character was introduced, Hae-jun’s list of suspects adds a new one in Baek Yu-sub who was supposed to meet Ms. Lee that night when she was supposed to have been dragged by the blue-headed man.

Still, we need concrete affirmation that it was indeed Hee-sub’s hyung who is also Yoon-young’s uncle.

Admitting the urgency of his situation in the timeline they are investigating was a sound move for Hae-jun to make Yoon-young understand that they can’t afford to make mistakes in changing something in the past that could affect the future.

Correspondingly, stopping Ms. Lee’s death does not guarantee that a second death will not happen. The question is how it will be prevented by the lead pair as well as its subsequent effect in the future.

Solve the puzzle pieces from the past with Hae-jun and Yoon-young in My Perfect Stranger.
