After their devastating breakup, Dam is heartbroken. Her friend, Soo-kyung tells her that the way to get over him is to drink. Dam gets so drunk, she can barely walk. She starts talking about Woo-yeo but her friend didn’t understand any of it. She even fights a fox mascot because of drunkenness.

Soo-Kyung finds a chance to text Woo-yeo using Dam’s phone, hoping that she can help her friend and her ex to get back together. However, when he came to the club, Soo-Kyung assumes that he’s just clubbing. He takes this opportunity to leave since he didn’t saw Dam anywhere.

When Dam is walking home, he secretly follows her, but she knows it nonetheless. They finally reconcile but she didn’t find the answer she’s looking for. Hye-sun notices this so she helps Dam and tells her about Woo-yeo’s marbles turning blue and everything.

She finally understands that he did that thing for her and him. The truth that he doesn’t want anyone to be in danger but he has to do that to live a normal life with her and to keep her safe all the time.

“To deal with a fox, you have to be a fox yourself.”

Now that she knows all about it, she wanted Woo-yeo to make her his marble carrier again. He disagrees with the idea because it was too risky. She can’t find any solution to convince him so she asks Hye-sun for advice.

Hye-sun tells her that Woo-yeo will only avoid her if she keeps asking for it, instead, she should be cold towards him so that he will chase after her. It’s a push-and-pull situation. Dam takes this advice very well.

Her plan becomes firmer when Jae-jin saw Hye-sun and Woo-yeo holding hands. He misunderstands it and gets jealous. When he tells Dam about it, she takes this a strategy, where she and Jae-jin can win.

They plan to look like they were having a mutual understanding and they were more than friends now. Hye-sun doesn’t like it though and quickly gets jealous. When Woo-yeo saw them together, he is so confused and jealous.

An accident happened, when suddenly Jae-jin fell off the stairs. Dam and Hye-sun panic, when both of them look up they saw Woo-yeo upstairs. Hye-sun quickly accuses him of pushing Jae-jin off the stairs.

At the hospital, Hye-sun offers Jae-jin a ride home since he can’t walk properly because of the injury. However, Jae-jin doesn’t want it. They had a confrontation and confession there. Hye-sun and Jae-jin are now closer than ever because of that.

“Some take off their jacket when the wind is strong, while some take their jackets off when the sun shines warmly.”

On Dam’s way home. She meets the mountain spirit once again. The mountain spirit told her the secret of how a gumiho becomes a human. He explains the reason is not just human energy, but the true reason is humanity.

A gumiho must learn how to be humane. Some learn it the hard way like Hye-sun. The mountain spirit thought that Woo-yeo can do it too like Hye-sun. However, When Dam came into his life his marbles turn blue again. That’s when the mounting spirit knew that Dam could the key to making Woo-yeo understand humanity.

He said that he doesn’t want to punish him using Dam, he just wants him to realize what Dam can do to help him become a human. Dam asks him why he is saying this to her instead of him. He said because Woo-yeo knows where he is going but he can’t find a way how to get there.

Now it is Dam’s job to make him a human for their love and his life. She asks the mountain spirit to guide her through it all and promises that she can help him become a human.

“In those times, you’re much more humane than I am, please continue showing those sides.”

Dam decides to live in Woo-yeo’s house again. Although, Woo-yeo is worried about it, at the same time, he is also happy. She tells him that she will teach him to be like a human. At first, Dam though he is capable of being a decent human until she discovers that he lacks a human relationship.

When Soo-kyung and Jae-jin accidentally heard, Woo-yeo and Dam talking about going home together, she uses their project as an alibi. While they were at the house, Dam and Woo-yeo walk on eggshells. Woo-yeo is very careful as he doesn’t want Dam’s friends to find out about them cohabiting.

Meanwhile, Dam is trying to use this chance to teach Woo-yeo about human interaction. However, everything becomes a disaster. Dam thinks that if he can’t interact with some stranger maybe he could focus first on building a stronger relationship with his friends. The only friend Woo-yeo has is Hye-sun but they’re not on good terms because of what happened to Jae-jin.

Dam arranges a lunch meeting so that Hye-sun and Woo-yeo could reconcile. Though, she got frustrated because she finds out that no matter how long those two have been friends, they’re still childish and fight like cat and dog.

“We find the solution. We are the ones to decide our own destiny, not that stupid red thread.”

Some of Dam’s schoolmates saw her and Woo-yeo walking together. They took photos of them and upload them online. The rumor spread inside the university. A lot of students talk behind Dam’s back and humiliate her.

Dam finds the courage to talk to the two students that uploaded their pictures. She courageously faces them and solves the problem. The rumor also put Seon-woo’s name in the situation. Seon-woo talks to Dam about it and willingly offers to help her. But Dam told him that she already solved it.

Seon-woo is going to study abroad, it’s the last time he can see Dam. He took this chance to tell her about his true feelings for the last time.

He didn’t expect anything from her just a good farewell and that’s all. Dam give him that. Although Seon-woo is heartbroken because of this, he accepts the fact that Dam can’t love him because the red thread that connects them, has been cut off.

Woo-yeo is worried for Dam but she assures him that everything is alright. Woo-yeo also fixes what he has done to Professor Seo and apologizes. Finally, Dam introduces him as her boyfriend to her friends. Although it’s awkward, her friends accept him because they can see how happy Dam is when she is with him. She is now very hopeful that Woo-yeo will become a human.

My Roommate Is A Gumiho Episode 13 and 14 Musing

One word to describe this week’s episodes is – comforting. The conflict of Dam and Woo-yeo’s relationship is now gone. They’re able to fix everything together. Even though there are scenes that are sad like Seon-woo saying goodbye to Dam and some nerve-racking scenes like Soo-kyung and Jae-jin being suspicious about Dam and Woo-yeo. All in all it was a consoling episode.

This episode is just the right balance of fun, peace and sadness. One thing to notice is how the didn’t just focus on Dam and Woo-yeo’s relationship. And gave us one of the most lovely scene in this episodes. It’s Jae-jin and Hye-sun’s confessions in the hospital. It was a heart-fluttering scene.

Two episodes to go before we say goodbye to this wonderful drama. If Dam is hopeful for Woo-yeo’s transformation as a human. We can’t help but be more excited about it. We are also hopeful for a beautiful and happy ending for this drama.
