Dam is willing to bear any challenges for her love for Woo-yeo. Even if it’s against her future and true destiny in episodes 11 and 12 of My Roommate Is A Gumiho.

My Roommate Is a Gumiho Episode 11 and 12 Key Moments
“It’s not mine to concern about. One’s fate is not that simple.”
In the previous episode, the Mountain spirit tied a red thread to Seon-woo and Dam. Because of this Dam and Seon-woo are now connected and destined for each other. In a lot of circumstances, they always find themselves being together.
This makes Seon-woo happy, however, Dam isn’t and she’s confused. She always tells people, who assume that they are dating, that she has a boyfriend.
A lot of people, especially her brother likes Seon-woo for her and often mistake him as her true boyfriend. Woo-yeo revealed to her that she is tied to Seon-woo. After that, she tries her best to avoid any situations with him. However, she can’t, the thread is always pulling her towards him.
“So don’t be too close to him. Don’t make me jealous.”
Because of Dam’s destiny, the Mountain spirit thinks Woo-yeo would think of it as a punishment. However, it’s not a punishment for him, at least at first. But now he feels envious of Seon-woo.
But then, he knows that Dam’s love for him is greater than that destiny. He tells her that she can’t fully avoid those situations but she can try not to get too close to him. He then adds that there comes a moment that she may fall in love with Seon-woo. Dam promises that she will not fall in love with him and not be too close to him.
Seon-woo and Dam end up being co-workers on a diner. Woo-yeo will be jealous, so Dam didn’t tell him about it. Yet, he discovers this and he felt jealous especially when Seon-woo walks her home.
Dam goes to his house instead of going home to spend a little time with him. Woo-yeo is still jealous, so, she confesses that she is working with Seon-woo. He knows that she is always honest with him. Thus, it made his jealousy fades.
“I trust you, I want you to trust me too.”
Ever since the marble was removed out of Dam. Woo-yeo can still get energy from her. This is dangerous to Dam, so they avoid physical contact.
However, when Dam accidentally swallows the marble again while they were in his house. Woo-yeo was scared so he asks to take it out again. Since they need physical contact like a kiss to remove it, he is nervous, Dam tells him that it’s fine and once again they remove the marble and share a heart-fluttering kiss.
After that, Dam assures it’s ok for them to have some little touches here and there. This wouldn’t consume all of her energy and will make her happy. Woo-yeo is still scared but she assures him that everything is fine.
“I might have been envious of living an ordinary life.”
The Mountain spirit shows Dam her true destiny. In that dream, he shows her what’s her life would be if she ends up with Seon-woo. It was a nice life and free. When Woo-yeo wants to stop the Mountain spirit from showing Dam his destiny, he also shows it to him too. He sees how happy Dam can be if she will be with Seon-woo.
Because of this, he is envious. He envies how free and comfortable the relationships they can have if they end up together. It’s the kind of relationship he wants to give to her but he can’t. He only wishes that he is a human too just like Seon-woo so that he and Dam can be together freely.
“I want you to go back from your ordinary self, that’s why I let you go with much pain. But now, I want to be your ordinary future.”
After that, he tries to help Dam by doing ordinary things like making kimchi. Even though it’s hard, he still wants to put effort into being a normal boyfriend for her.
But then, he can’t change the fact that he can’t give her that kind of relationship. When Dam needs to interview someone for a project she needs people to help her. Her friend Seo-Kyung, Jae-Jin, Seon-woo, and one of her sunbaenim volunteers to help her. Woo-yeo asks Hye-sun to join too and asks her to keep Dam safe.
Their trip and interview went well. While they are drinking, Jae-Jin decides to play spin the bottle. When the bottle points to Dam twice, Seon-woo keeps asking her about his boyfriend. Dam didn’t answer the first question but she got pissed so she answered the second question. That ruined the whole atmosphere.
Dam finds Seon-woo sitting outside while snowing. He is so drunk so Dam tries to comfort him but she feels that it’s a mistake so he just lets him be. Woo-yeo fetches her from the trip because of this Seon-woo accidentally finds out about Woo-yeo’s and Dam’s relationship.
He thinks that Dam doesn’t deserve him because there is a rumor around the campus that he is dating their professor in ancient history. Woo-yeo reassures Dam that it’s just a rumor and she got nothing to worry about.
“I’m willing to bear everything. I want this relationship despite of everything, though you’re not a human, you lied to me and used me, I liked you.
Everyone on their campus still believes the rumor. Jae-jin shared that he saw Professor Seo walk into Woo-yeo’s office. Dam distrusted this information so she immediately went to his office to confirm this.
Turns out it’s true, but what surprises her is when she saw Woo-yeo removes the marble from that professor. He puts his marble on her so that he can have some human energy without harming Dam. This makes her feel betrayed and angry.
Woo-yeo tells her that he knows that what he did is horrible. He also explains that he needs human energy, so he has no choice but to do that. Dam is frustrated about it. She is honest with him in everything that she does and even tries to change her fate for him. But all he did is lie to him and harm other people for her sake.
She can’t stand it. She feels horrid to know that another person was put in danger for her without her consent. Dam decides to break up with him. It’s the best decision she thinks both for her and him. Even though this decision breaks her heart and his too.
My Roommate Is A Gumiho Episodes 11 & 12 Musings
These episodes show us how complicated Dam and Woo-yeo’s relationship is. Despite their unconditional love for each other, they are simply not meant to be together. Especially when the red thread of Dam is connected to Seon-woo.
We also feel bad for Seon-woo in this episode. He changed his attitude and willing to love Dam. However, she is cold to him because she doesn’t want Woo-yeo to feel jealous. Even though she was cold to him, he still tries his best to prove to her that he is sincere. It’s the peak of second-lead syndrome that a lot of viewers have for Seon-woo.
Woo-yeo and Dam’s relationship is the dark tone of this episode. Particularly when they decided to break up. It was an anguish-filled moment. The lighter tone of this episode is the love life of Jae-Jin and Hye-sun.
Their relationship starts from confusion and misunderstanding but they look good together. We knew that Jae-jin liked Hye-sun but now we can tell that Hye-Sun is starting to fall for him too. Their paring is so cute that we can’t help but ship them more.
We can’t wait for the next episode, now that their relationship is over. Will the red thread help Dam to navigate her true destiny with Seon-woo or will she come back to Woo-yeo?.
No matter what she chooses we wanted them to fix everything and find a solution to escape their complicated relationship. The story is now getting closer to its culmination. We hope for a satisfying one. A lot of viewers are rooting for it and excited for the remaining episodes.
