Once Upon A Small Town Episode 10 and 11 Highlights

Previously in Once Upon A Small Town, Ji-yul makes an effort to let Ja-young know that Min is a person from his past. However, his persistent ex-girlfriend kisses him and was witnessed by Ja-young.

“While I’m being rude let me also say this. If that’s how you feel. You should make it clear. You may just be nice to anyone but he might interpret it differently.”

Attempting to clarify the situation, Ja-young tells Ji-yul that he does not need to explain what she saw.

Looking despondent, Ji-yul’s hyung figures something bothers Ji-yul based on his I-have-a-love-problem face. Fortunately, his hyung gives a sound motivation by suggesting a love confession would help his current situation.

At Ja-young’s place, Min talks to her to check if she has feelings for Ji-yul. Reassuring Min that she’s just happy to see Ji-yul for a long time, her words hint at how she can’t process her emotions because of the uncertainty that it will be reciprocated.

“I realized we can’t go on like this. Not giving you an answer after you told me how you felt, yet still wanting to have what we’ve always had.”

After contemplating for a while, Ja-young heads to Sang-hyun’s coffee truck and finally gives him the answer to the love proposal he gave a while ago. She apologizes for delaying the answer and for being unable to return his love.

Tears well in her eyes as she recognized how much she meant to him, but she can only hurt him in the process if she accepts the kind of love, she can’t give to him.

Sang-hyun being mature and understanding that he is, accepts the rejection and the friendship love Ja-young only reserved for him. He vows to stay by her side still.

“This is bad for my heart. This dating thing.”

Trying to evade Ji-yul, he finally corners Ja-young to make his confession. However, she rejects him because of his impending moving back to Seoul.

Min finally acknowledges she’s fighting a losing battle and finally let go of Ji Yul. She also apologizes to Ja-young for everything.

Learning from the clinic secretary that Ji-yul is bound to leave for Seoul, Ja-young rushes to the clinic and overturns her initial rejection. Pouring out the truth about her feelings, she kisses Ji-yul which he returns happily.

Agreeing to secretly date, Ji-yul and Ja-young bask in romance as they sneak time to be together without Huidong townspeople finding out they are dating.
