Go Hyun Jung, Ahn Jae Hong, & Yeom Hye Ran To Deck On A Webtoon-Based Drama In Netflix’s Series “Mask Girl”

Netflix has assembled its confirmed cast for Mask Girl, which aims to feature grim humor that is worth anticipating.

Mask Girl, a popular webtoon with a strong character and innovative growth, will be reborn as a Netflix series.

It narrates the story of Kim Mi-mo, an ordinary office worker with an appearance complex. She becomes involved in an unintended incident while working as an internet broadcaster, VJ, while concealing her face each night with a mask.

Notably, the original webtoon of the same name was beloved for its appeal. It blended many genres, such as thrillers and black humor.

Go Hyun Jung will portray a powerful character, Kim Mi-mo. Moreover, with a timid disposition, she has aspired to be a celebrity since she was a child. She is always self-conscious about her appearance, which falls short of her ideal.

Struggling with her inferiority in appearance all her life, Kim Mi-mo gained her confidence when she wore her mask and transformed into an Internet broadcaster, BJ.

As a strong-willed woman, she uses whatever means and tactics are necessary to attain a single objective in a life that is spiraling out of control following a tragedy.

Previously, Go Hyun Jung appeared in dramas including Reflection of You and Dear My Friends, and in Mask Girl, she aims to bring another compelling character.

Ahn Jae Hong and Yeom Hye Ran Join the Ensemble for Mask Girl

Furthermore, Ahn Jae Hong has displayed his charm and charisma in his earlier works, which include the films Time to Hunt and The King’s Case Note, as well as the dramas, Be Melodramatic, Reply 1988, and Fight for My Way. He’ll portray Joo Oh-nam, a coworker with a crush on Kim Mo-mi.

Correspondingly, Joo Oh-nam’s sole source of entertainment is watching internet broadcasts since he lacks the presence of Mo-mi’s appearance complex. He becomes embroiled in an unforeseen event with Mo-mi.

Meanwhile, Yeom Hye Ran, who has excelled in character digestibility and presence in the dramas The Uncanny Counter, When the Camellia Blooms, and Goblin, portrays Kim Kyung-ja, Joo Oh-nam’s mother.

Kyung-ja lives solely with her son, Oh Nam. After her son Oh-nam, whom she adored, vanishes, she launches a search for his whereabouts.

Accumulating the expectations for the relentless story, the great actors from the most powerful combinations will weave the unusual plot and dynamic growth of the series.

Mask Girl will be spearheaded and penned by Kim Yong Hoon of Beasts Clinging at Straws, which won the special jury prize at the 49th Rotterdam International Film Festival.

Above all, the film will be produced by Bone Factory, which has already produced several blockbuster films like My ID is Gangnam Beauty, Encounter, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, and The Master’s Sun.

Mask Girl will be available exclusively on Netflix.
