Study Group aims for comical youth drama by revealing the main cast, including Hwang Min Hyun, Han Ji Eun, Cha Woo Min, and study group members Lee Jong Hyun, Shin Soo Hyun, Yoon Sang Jung, and Gong Do Yu.

It narrates the story of Yoon Ga-min, a boy who wants to study well but is only talented in fighting, at Yuseong Technical High School, the worst school on earth. It will traverse the story of the fierce entrance examination that takes place while forming a ‘study group’.
Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, Study Group (Written by Shin Hyeong-wook/Illustrated by Yoo Seung-yeon/Produced by YLab), interest is focused on the web series adaptation.
Playing the role of Yoon Ga-min is Hwang Min Hyun (My Lovely Liar, Alchemy of Souls). Ga-min looks like a model student on the outside with a neat and gentle appearance, but whenever his study group friends are in trouble, he unleashes his hidden physical strength and ‘fights’ to ‘study’.
Han Ji Eun (Bad and Crazy, Be Melodramatic) plays the role of Lee Han-kyung, a teacher who dreams of change in the school. Han-kyung is a talented person who aced the entrance exam, but keeps a secret and takes a temporary job as a teacher at Yuseong Technical High School. She believes in and supports the study group of Ga-min.
Cha Woo Min (Weak Hero Class 1) plays the role of Pi Han-ul, the actual number one person at Yuseong Technical High School. Han-ul is the son of Pi Yeon-baek, the leader of the gangster Yeonbaek faction, and is a character who attracted the attention of fans of the original webtoon with his three-dimensional appearance.
The casting of Yuseong Technical High School study group members was also revealed. Rookie Lee Jong-hyun was named to play the role of Kim Se-hyeon, the character who comes in second in school and becomes the first member of the study group. Shin Soo-hyun, who made a name for himself in Duty After School, plays the role of Lee Ji-woo, who has a weakness in leading team due to his wandering twin younger brother. Ji-woo’s best friend Choi Hee-won is played by Yoon Sang Jung.
Lastly, Gong Do Yu, who attempted to transform from a model to an actor, joined to play the role of Lee Joon, the self-proclaimed second-in-command of the study group, completing a solid lineup.
The production team of Study Group said, “Through the coming-of-age drama of the main character Ga-min and his friends who dream of change, we wanted to show hope that even people who seemed like they would stay the same can someday change. The drama series ‘Study Group’ is an exciting day for today’s fierce competition. We hope it will be a source of support to everyone living there.”
