Overwhelmed by the events, Chang-ho learns about Soon-tae’s membership in big mouse’s organization in Big Mouth.
Appointed as the new leader, Chang-ho receives assistance from Soon-tae who has a high position in the organization. Mi-ho continues their investigation and discovers that Mayor Choi is the grandson of NK Chemicals. Moving forward with his plans in getting close to Chairman Kang, Chang-ho announces his plans of running for mayor.

“It’s okay if you fail. Just don’t give up.”
No Park dies from an explosion, and Chairman Kang wants Chang-ho to be excluded from being killed. Although Mayor Choi is eager to do so, the chairman reminds him to keep himself clean in entering a bigger political world.
Sitting in the morgue, Chang-ho recalls No Park telling him to never give up, so he visits the scene where No Park died.
The mayor’s secretary orders ‘waterfowl’ to finish his job, so he attacks Chang-ho in the blasted restaurant.
However, Jerry and his assistant come to save Chang-ho, and assure him that his wife and father-in-law are also protected by big mouse’s organization.
Jerry tells Chang-ho that it is the organization’s duty to protect him and his family, so Mi-ho and Ki-kwang are brought to a hotel.
At night, Jerry brings Chang-ho to big mouse’s funeral, seeing the core members.
Curious about who asked him to be saved, Jerry reveals to Chang-ho that only the top three members get to voice their requests. Park Yoon-gab is revealed to be one of the big three.
“All I did was save my friend.”
As shown in a video left by No Park, Chang-ho is assigned as the next leader of the organization of big mouse.
Yoon-gab suspects Chang-ho of faking the video, but Soon-tae comes forward that it was him who filmed the video.
Asking if anyone objects to big mouse’s dying wish, Yoon-gab rests his case and walks out of the church.
The mayor bursts into anger after hearing that ‘waterfowl’ was found dead, ruled as suicide.
Chang-ho feels betrayed by the shocking discovery, and Soon-tae justifies that he had to save his friend. He then leaves him the decision whether to accept the position, which Chang-ho sees as a position to lead a dirty crime ring.
Hearing that greater danger awaits him if members rebel, Chang-ho asks for some time to decide and refrain from telling Mi-ho.
Coming to the hotel, Chang-ho asks Mi-ho and Ki-kwang whether to continue big mouse’s request. Ki-kwang says there’s no reason to do so since the client is dead, but Miho wants to continue after her experience with the inmates, Hye-jin, and the leukemia patients.
Agreeing to take the position, Chang-ho tells Soon-tae that he’ll leave when law and justice have been established.
He hears about how No Park’s daughter, No Soo-jin, was killed as a freelance reporter digging on the NR Forum.
Peter Hong was also implanted by big mouse’s organization, but he ran off with the money.
“No individual is above the organization.”
Though the money is still not found, Soon-tae says it’s not their priority. Ready to begin his plans in the organization, Soon-tae reassures Chang-ho that he can give his orders.
Digging into details about Chairman Kang, they hold a meeting about the NR Forum. They deduce that NK Chemicals is the most involved with the deaths as Mi-ho also recalls the pipe that burst in the sinkhole.
Stressed with the secret lab, Joo-hee requests Chairman Kang to stop his business on the NF9. However, the chairman stubbornly keeps his pride and legacy with no regrets about the deaths it caused.
During that dinner after the chairman left, Mayor Choi admits to Joo-hee that he killed Professor Seo since he promised to do anything for the chairman when he was married to Joo-hee.
Joo-hee proceeds in getting rid of the secret lab, and she fearlessly explains herself to the elder. She tells how it’s much safer to move the lab since there is already public awareness of the existence of Professor Seo’s paper.
Requesting the shares in Woojeong daily, Chairman Kang willingly gives in to the request of Joo-hee, which infuriates Ji-hoon.
“You only live once. Might as well live in style.”
After his diving activities, Mayor Choi gets attacked in the bathroom.
Chairman Yang gets released from prison, and Chang-ho welcomes him back with an offer to manage the restaurant left by No Park.
In order to maintain stability in the organization, Soon-tae threatens Yoon-gab and brings him to Chang-ho.
Mi-ho looks through old newspapers about NK Chemicals, and Jerry finds information on the tragedy the family faced.
Visiting one of the family members related to NK Chemicals, Mi-ho confirms from the old man in the nursing home that Mayor Choi Do-ha is the grandson of NK Chemicals.
Mayor Choi recovers from his injury, and takes the opportunity to reveal his plans of running for the national assembly to the reporters crowding him.
Chang-ho, watching the news, organizes an emergency press conference where he announces that he will run for mayor.
Inviting Ji-hoon over, Chang-ho strikes a deal to make him mayor, so Ji-hoon brings Chang-ho to Chairman Kang.
Big Mouth Episode 13 Musings
With the number of people near Chang-ho being related to ‘big mouse’ – it must have been baffling for him and surprising for some viewers. Soon-tae who turns out to be part of big mouse’s organization may have already shown hints in the earlier episodes especially when assets were found in Chang-ho’s office.
As he is just new to the organization and is hesitant about accepting the responsibility, it may take time to gain the trust of the core members. Luckily, Chang-ho has reliable people in the organization such as Jerry, Soon-tae, and Chairman Yang who was recently released.
Mi-ho’s discovery of the family of Mayor Choi is crucial in their battle against Chairman Kang who is also the target of Mayor Choi.
The mayor moves along also with his plans for running in the national assembly. Though his run may be smooth for now, this path has already long been stained by his past actions.
Quick enough with his plans, Chang-ho empowers himself through Ji-hoon again, making his mission more engaging in the remaining episodes.
