One The Woman Episode 12 Key Moments

“You always end up being hurt if I was in your life.”

A flashback from the past reveals Yeon-ju’s father being pushed to the edge to admit Hanju Fashion’s arson case when he did not actually commit it. It turns out Secretary Kim visited him to propose owning the deed since no one will believe him anyway. Thinking of doing something good for his daughter, he relents.

Yeon-ju realizing she pushed her father to it walks out of the room. At that same moment, Sung-woon discloses what he found out about the woman faking his wife. Fortunately, he only got the name and age but not her association with the prosecutor’s office. Seung-wook hands comfort sugar packet and listen to her regrets.

He assures her that he understands her situation and advises her to choose her life battles wisely. Urging her to stop hating her father as the starting point, she gripes that it won’t be easy. He responds he knows she can do it.

The next day, they visit Yeon-ju’s father and clear the water under the bridge. He also recounts how his drunk nonsense blab about getting back to the factory was used against him. He intends to set the fire but worrying about his mom at the last minute, he halts.

From the outside of the factory, he saw the building on fire. He also mentions seeing a ledger that refutes Chairman Han’s statement that Seung-wook’s father burned the ledgers. From her father’s and Seung-wook’s recollections, Yeon-ju suspects that Chairman Han might be involved in her grandmother’s hit-and-run case.

“In other words, we have to uncover facts that are not in the prosecutor’s file which we can’t find because it has been too long.”

Yu-jun, Seung-wook and Yeon-ju huddle to discuss the arson case file. Unfortunately, the messy investigation leads them to find a route. She leads them to a maverick investigation. They meet her Seopyung Firefighter friends and learn how Seung-wook’s father appeared to have been dead already.

Resorting to a hypnosis treatment to regain Yeon-ju’s memory, she was able to extract the car details which belong to Chairman Han. They deduce the old man hit his grandmother which was later cleaned up by Chief Prosecutor Ryu. Pointing out no solid evidence and the case being too old, Yu-jun relays no card to play against Chairman Han.

But Yeon-ju confidently proposes an attack from the blindside in the case they are tackling. Unknown to them, Sung-hye’s men and Prosecutor Ryu are keeping tabs on their actions.

Sung-hye also meets Mina’s aunt and requests her to reveal the Mina they have is a fake at the shareholder’s meeting. At the meeting, Mina’s aunt declares the agenda of Seung-wook’s share transfer and intention to clear the viral rumors that Yumin’s CEO is a fraud.

Using her brother’s DNA from his favorite vacation house and the hair Sung-hye got from Yeonju, a paternity test was commissioned. Confidently sharing the result was not tampered with as it was just delivered, Mina’s aunt reads the result with 99.9% DNA match result between her brother and Yeon-ju.

One The Woman Episode 12 Musings

The race on who can outsmart each other officially begins in One The Woman. We’re all curious about that DNA result, but the next episode’s preview didn’t provide any hint about it. So, it’s either it’s true or Mina has something to do with it, or maybe both.

With our lead pair united to one common goal involving one person, it looks easier, but the supporting villains surrounding Chairman Han are not easy to be subdued.

Notably, episode 12 explains the painful truth that people with bad reputations have to go through. The stigma they carry makes people settle for the preconceived notion that they won’t change. Just like Yeon-ju’s father who was never given a proper chance to explain himself because even his own daughter blames him.

Down the stretch, we can anticipate characters that would redeem themselves or stake their all to their chosen evil path. However, it’s no easy feat when all the pieces of evidence needed are either possessed or controlled by the villains.

Can Yeon-ju and Seung-wook make the people who caused their loved ones’ deaths pay for their sins?
