Monthly Magazine Home Peak Points

Our hard work will always pay off

Ja-sung becomes a billionaire because of his hard work. He didn’t grow up with a rich family, so the only way to make his life better is to work hard and save.

Young-won always dreams of owning a house. She is also hardworking, however, she doesn’t know how to save her money right. When she meets Ja-sung. He teaches her that for her to achieve her dream of owning a house she must know how to save.

She follows every piece of advice that he teach her. Although sometimes it’s hard because of some circumstances, he assures her to be strong and trust the process.

Soon her hard work for saving pays off. She achieves her dreams and goals in life.

Continue to love someone during good and especially bad times

Ja-sung is a cold and sometimes arrogant boss to his employee. He is sometimes harsh to them. And he thinks that it’s the right way to handle them so that they will be more productive at work. However, the employees didn’t like this attitude and often badmouth him.

Even though he said he’s not affected by those words, in reality, he is hurt. When he and Young-won start to date, she also gets affected by those words and feels sorry for him. She knows that he is not a bad person and he is just not open with showing his care to others.

On his birthday, he unexpectedly gives important gifts to his employees. They’re very thankful to him. So, little by little he becomes friendlier with his employees.

Young-won is proud of it. She loves him through his good and bad sides. Another couple in this series is Ui-joo and Sang-soon.

They started as frenemies, but they’re also good colleagues. Ui-joo has a lot of secrets that even her closest friends don’t know. When Sang-soon discovers it, he didn’t judge her instead he stays with her and confesses his love for her.

Their relationship is sometimes rocky but sweet and lovely. This couple teaches us that we should accept our loved ones for who they are and be with them always especially during bad times.

The home reflects its owner

This drama teaches us that a “home” can be a reflection of us as a person. Like Ja-sung’s house, it’s empty and temporary. He doesn’t add anything to his life because he is scared of trusting people. However, he changes when Young-won came into his life. So does his house. It was now filled with good things and great memories.

Other than that, we can tell people’s problems if we see their house. Like how other characters deal with their problems in life that are somehow associated with their houses.

As a person, our home is an important part of us. If only walls could talk they will probably tell people how we cry in the middle of the night when we feel alone and how we dance in our room when we are bored or how we sing out loud in the bathroom because we are excited about our day. Our home reflects us. So we must take care of it just like how we take care of ourselves.

Monthly Magazine Home Series Musing

Monthly Magazine Home has a great story and plot. The dialogues and lines are written very well. Although there are some cliche scenes, it has a unique soothing beauty.

The characters are also relatable, lovable and funny. Young-won is not you’re typical female lead. Her determination to reach her goals is truly inspiring. Ja-sung’s character development is also a must-see in this series as it sheds light on how the most distant person can open up his emotions.

It is also laudable how the series gave ample spotlights to the supporting characters and their stories.

Sang-soon and Ui-joo really deserve a happy ending. They are so good together and their last scenes in the series give us tears of joy.

Another character that shines in here is Gyeom. Viewers totally had a second-lead syndrome towards him. We can’t blame them, Gyeom is the cute, kind, and supportive guy friend to Young-won and he is also a good friend and brother to Ja-sung.

Lastly, the houses they feature felt like a virtual tour to a magazine home channel. Also, the lessons about saving money give a unique sense to the story.
