One The Woman Episode 7 Key Moments
“I’m searching the whole world using all the resources I have. You’ll be going back soon.”
Something rings familiar to Seung-wook’s memories the more he interacts with Yeon-ju. Just like the “magic powder” and warm emergency room of hospitals conversations he reckoned they have shared in the past. Surprised at those thoughts, he excuses himself to leave which baffled Yeon-ju.
Unknown to Yeon-ju, a few paparazzi eyes have been stalking her. Fortunately for them, they were rewarded for her shameless sushi munching. It lands her viral news online criticizing her hospitalization as really a way of avoiding the Prosecution’s Investigation.
Whining at the ruckus Yeon-ju created, Lawyer No puts the blame on the stupid guy who bought the food not knowing it was Seung-wook. Meanwhile, Sung-hye strikes a deal with Lee Bong-sik to bring evidence to prove Kang Mi-na is a fraud so his life can be spared.
“After being so mean to me all these years, are you not afraid to send me to the prosecutors?”
Left with no choice but to face the prosecution’s interrogation, Yeon-ju sets off to the meeting. Before that, she gave quite a scare to her in-laws who ate breakfast nonchalantly like they don’t care how they forced her to go to a battlefield. Holding back her thoughts, she hilariously runs down all the worth-investigating violations of each family member inwardly.
Like a proper daughter-in-law, she instead receives a lecture from Chairman Han to be careful of being photographed. Placing Lawyer No as a decoy, Yeon-ju drives a low-key car and lets Seung-wook join her to where she’s heading. He also funnily deduced how she might have caused an uproar when she was scolded by Han family during breakfast.
Volunteering to keep an eye on her to avoid going through inappropriate actions, Seung-wook escorts Yeon-ju to Seopyung District office. Unaware that the car she was driving was rigged, Yeon-ju’s excellent driving skills came in handy. But the intense pressure, caused Yeon-ju’s head to ache.
So, Seung-wook takes over the steering wheel and goes for come-what-may maneuvering. They reach the prosecutor’s office but with little casualty, which again caused an online news sensation.
“I can’t go to my real life right now. Don’t worry, I have so many people looking after me. What could possibly happen?”
Yu-jun meets Yeon-ju not realizing she is suiting up as Kang Mi-na and gripes at how he was worried about her. They later connect their stories and situation. Knowing Yeon-ju’s old habits are hard to die, he was convinced that she was lying. Eventually, he coaxed her to share her predicament, so he can help her.
Learning her early assessment of being a prosecutor is really true, she confesses to Yu-jun about how everyone’s misunderstanding caused her to become a stand-in of Mi-na. Joining the trio’s Kang Mina’s secret club, Yu-jun gets acquainted with the situation after cute bickering with Seung-wook.
Affected by Yu-jun driving Yeon-ju home, Seung-wook did not expect to see them again as they all realize the two are neighbors. Yu-jun even made sure to hide the passcode of his favorite noona’s apartment door from Seung-wook. While the two friends chat, Seung-wook is seen worried about Yu-jun still not leaving her place. He ends up convincing himself that they are like siblings.
Yu-jun feeds Yeon-ju about an escaped criminal (Lee Bong-sik) she was pursuing behind her superior’s back. While she marvels at how good she is probably with her job, he can’t make a way to refute it by spilling her corrupt ways nonetheless championing justice’s way of executing justice to lawless people.
“When a person goes through hardships in life, they remember something from the past which encourages and heals them. I don’t have that anymore.”
Now that she finds her identity, Yeon-ju faces another problem. This time, she has to learn about her old prosecutor self to withdraw the missing person report filed for her. When Yu-jun asked her what’s holding her back to stay with Han family, Seung-wook passes her thoughts. Later, she knocks on his door to tend his bruised arm which he used to protect her earlier, when the car break went berserk.
Amused at the woman who almost had another car accident happily munching food, Seung-wook listens to Yeon-ju blab about her inference that she has lived a dangerous life. He assures her that her memory will return since she now knows her identity. She also hopes for it to happen since her problem-laden life is too hard to bear without her memories.
Holding back her temper, Yeon-ju listened to Chairman Han’s lecture about minding her image as head of Yumin Group. She also learns from Mrs. Kim her suspicion of the car break being fiddled. But her response remains vague on why she seems to be helping Yeon-ju.
Sung-woon confronts Yeon-ju about the earlier incident and offers an alliance to her. She straightaway rejects it and draws the line of not having plans of bearing children for Han family at all.
Meanwhile, Chairman Han reminds Sung-hye to improve the hotel business. His daughter responds coldly hinting at her awareness that his father favors more his son. Yeon-ju finally meets her adopted uncles who fill in her story which she cannot remember.
She learns from them how she got money for the crooks to be let go, but her uncles would punish them per her command. It brought her a sense of joy thinking she’s a protector of the weak.
“What do you expect me to say after all this time?”
Seung-wook visits the culprit of the arson case which killed his father and he turns out to be Yeon-ju’s father. He denies being bribed by Hanju Group and assessed how Seung-wook seems to need that answer more than him.
But he replies no one will believe him even if he says that since it already happened a long time. He advises Seung-wook that it’s hard to persuade someone who refuses to believe the truth.
To dispel her missing person report, Yeon-ju goes back to Seoul Prosecutor’s Office the same day Prosecutor Ryu was appointed as the Chief Prosecutor. She also asks for time off. Sensing something fishy in the Lee Bong-sik case, she is not aware that the culprit reached out to Prosecutor Ryu.
Outside, Yeon-ju bumps on Lee Bong-sik wearing a helmet and realizes the prosecutor chasing after him also looks like the rich lady from Hanju group.
One The Woman Episode 7 Musings
Life will get more hilarious and thrilling for the heroine of One The Woman in the next episodes. The horror on Yeon-ju’s face realizing she has to impersonate herself is priceless. Since both the characters she has fallen into have yet to realize tangled fates, her journey becomes even more engrossing.
Having no recollection of her prosecutor, it functions not just as a handicap but a wild card eventually. Especially when she fully assumes her real character as a prosecutor. If only Mi-na opts to be braver and join the fun so she can claim a life she has always wanted.
That being said, the showdowns among the tenacious and smart villains and good guys when the plot hits culmination should be anticipated. With Lee Bong-sik under the pressure of Sung-hye and with connection with Prosecutor Ryu, chances are high that Yeon-ju will also realize his importance.
This episode also confirmed that Yeon-ju was the person who comforted Seung-wook that unfortunate day when they both lost their loved ones. By the rate of connection, Yeon-ju and Seung-wook are getting closer, we hope for them to find love and Mina, too.
Can Yeon-ju withstand the pressure while finding her memories?
