One The Woman

The protagonists of One The Woman made quite a development to their mission this episode.

However, it does not mean that the formidable villains won’t overturn their situations. It turns out that the night Yeon-ju and Seung-wook lost their loved ones, the Han father-and-daughter mutually had a hand in the unfortunate event.

One The Woman

One The Woman Episode 13 Key Moments (Spoiler Alert!)

“Why must I give you an explanation and be held responsible?”

Quick to take advantage of the overturned situation, Yeon-ju smartly uses a victim card to gain sympathy from the board members. She also makes an announcement of stepping down from her position as Yumin Group CEO and transferring her shares to Seung-wook.

Sung-hye takes the blow of her failed plan as Mina’s aunt gets mad for putting her in a bad light. Chairman Han tries to coax Yeon-ju of how valuable she is to him as a daughter-in-law to try reverting her decision.

Declaring Seung-wook’s place as their mission hideout, Yeon-ju chooses to track Prosecutor Ryu after finding out that her assistant Mr. Kim was asked by her superior to tail her. They also deduce that Hanju Group is also keeping tabs on their movements.

Through Yu-jun and Yeon-ju’s uncles, they planted a bug on Prosecutor Ryu’s phone. Yu-jun also learns Prosecutor Ryu has unlocked Yeon-ju’s impersonation but stops Yu-jun when he motions to report his noona’s deed. Lawyer Noh also decides from Hanju Group so he can act as a lawyer for the case they are working on.

“You mercilessly hound me like this when I make a little mistake. So, how could I discuss things with you all the time?”

Chairman Han tries to straighten his daughter out with her careless fixation on her sister-in-law. Griping on how she was only given barely surviving business despite her hard work, Sung-hye questions her father on what more can she do to gain his confidence. She also agrees to lie low on the hotel’s operation.

Openly free to date, Seung-wook brings food to Yeon-ju’s place and they adorably play their new roles as lovers. But it did not last long as Sung-woon arrives in front of Seung-wook’s door demanding him to come out.

Since his place holds the investigation information, Seung-wook goes out to stop his cousin’s ruckus. But Sung-woon quickly enters Yeon-ju’s place and tries to snoop in. Pleading his older cousin to back him up and let him join their team out of fear of his sister.

With recent events putting her in a difficult situation, Sung-hye is resigned to going against her father. Meanwhile, Yeon-ju also makes a move using media by releasing the corrupt activities of Prosecutor Ryu.

Pushing the chief prosecutor, they successfully cast the bait and wait for whose ship he will join. Prosecutor Ryu reaches to Chairman Han who already saw the news and made the precaution to avoid being linked with him.

“The case from 14 years ago, is my most reliable insurance policy for now.”

Finding a way to converse with Chairman Han, Prosecutor Ryu blackmails him that he has evidence that could implicate him. It involves Hanju Fashion arson case.

He also warns that should he order for his head; his most trusted person will still release the information he kept safely. Unknown to them, Yeon-ju is looped in their conversation.

Secretary Kim alerts Sung-hye of who Cho Yeon-ju is based on the information from the gangster working for them. Remembering the auction video, the villainess connects who Yeon-ju is.

Based on the clues from the meetings and conversations she spent with Prosecutor Ryu, Yeon-ju sets forth in finding the evidence he has been hiding. Spotting a non-functioning clock that CP Ryu keeps bringing, she checks on it.

At that same moment, Sung-hye walks inside the building heading straight to CP Ryu’s office. Yeon-ju hides just as CP Ryu also arrives and invites his visitor to sit.
Laying his cards, CP Ryu offers to bring down her father if she will get rid of Yeon-ju.

Yeon-ju retrieves a USB device inside CP Ryu’s clock and finds Sung-hye waiting in her office. After exchanging taunts, the two mutually wage war against each other.

One The Woman Episode 13 Musings

While Yeon-ju has all the information to propel her team’s plan in serving the justice Han family member villains deserve, the execution is hindered by her opponents’ scheme. It does not help that Prosecutor Ryu is also a flexible villain who knows how to escape sticky situations.

With three more episodes left, Kang Mina is still actively non-functioning in the narrative. Hopefully, as Yeon-ju hints in the 14th episode preview, she would make her presence soon. Though it seems it will be likely in the final week. Learning from Ms. Kim how utterly evil his noona cousin has become, it will definitely drive Seung-wook to go full-throttle in his goal with Yeon-ju.

The conspiring antagonists look pompously confident in their counterattack in episode 14. Honestly, the penultimate week is just achieving its story goal of heightening the showdown to be realized and resolved in the finale week.

Can Yeon-ju stop the “power of conglomerate”? Will Kang Mina finally show up for her character’s redeeming moment?
