Cheer Up Episode 4 Highlights
As Sun-ho is about to leave Theia, he saw hope that he can win Hae-yi. He then asks the senior members about Theia’s rules about dating in front of everyone.
Sun-ho directly checks Captain Jung-woo about his take on dating a fellow squad member and he answers that he won’t. This both crushed and confused Hae-yi’s heart since Jung-woo has been giving her mixed signals.
On the other hand, Sun-ho uses this opportunity to get close to Hae-yi more and always assures her that he won’t hurt her. However, Jung-woo’s words deeply stung Hae-yi and created a wall between her and the Captain.
“Suspicion only grows when you try to hide it. We should cut out the infected area before it spreads further.”
With everyone busy preparing for the upcoming event, a senior member of Theia suddenly attacked and hit Jung-woo. Lately, Jung-woo is investigating Theia’s suspicious expenses, which revealed this senior’s wrongdoings.
Even though this issue was calmly amended, Jung-woo still can’t hide that he still has resentment toward him. Before Yoo-min’s accident, this senior spread false information about her because of his eagerness to be the next captain.
The gossip he spread made a huge impact on Yoo-min and made her lose focus leading to her not reacting fast to the falling stage light. Until today, Jung-woo still can’t forget every detail of Yoo-min’s accident and suffers from hallucinations.
“You struggled throughout our relationship. When you were with me, you felt lonelier.”
Furthermore, a revelation about Captain Jung-woo and Ha-jin gives Hae-yi hope again. Sun-ja overhears the conversation between the two Captains that they indeed dated before.
Captain Ha-jin also admits that she cheated on Jung-woo and wished that he should have at least shown anger. Nevertheless, the two clearly know that Jung-woo was still not over with Yoo-min when they were dating.
“I like Hae-yi. So I don’t want you to sway her. I’d appreciate it more if you could help me out.”
This news sparks Hae-yi’s confidence again, and the nervousness gradually sinks into her. While preparing, Hae-yi felt hungry and decides to leave her cheering uniform inside the club.
Unexpectedly, a Theia member, Mi-jung, tries to stain Hae-yi’s uniform with a coffee, but Sun-ho immediately stops her. As this reaches Captain Jung-woo, Mi-jung expresses her dislike toward Hae-yi because of how arrogant she became after being chosen to be a representative.
After giving a warning to Mi-jung, Sun-ho made it clear to Jung-woo that she likes Hae-yi and that he should not confuse her with his treatment of her. This creates another tense aura between them that reached backstage.
Still, the two put their feelings aside and focused on giving their best to their performance. On the other hand, Hae-yi manages to get rid of her anxiety because of Jung-woo’s encouragement.
As they were about to end their last performance, a mysterious man purposely controlled the equipment and targeted Hae-yi on the stage. Fortunately, Captain Ha-jin saw the loose stage light and rushes to Hae-yi to alert her.
Cheer Up Episode 4 Musings
The fourth episode of the series is indeed filled with the energy and passion of the youth. Not to mention Jung-woo and Sun-ho’s rivalry builds up without feeling rushed and is written well.
The simple details such as the glimpse that the three exchanges are a great build-up of the character’s feelings. With the tense atmosphere Jung-woo and Sun-ho has created, surely the next episodes will be more thrilling and heart-fluttering.
Despite the episode ending on a dark note, the cheering performance in Cheer Up gave me goosebumps. It’s also heartwarming to see and feel again the spirited atmosphere of the youth.
In addition, the secrets of Theia also slowly surface, and the accidents of the squad members have a high chance that it is not accidental. With many characters introduced, the characters of Ho-min and Min-jae are suspicious.
Nonetheless, one thing’s for sure a mysterious person expresses hatred toward Theia. Let’s hope that Captain Jung-woo catches the culprit and finds his answers about Yoo-min’s death.
