Cheer Up

Cheer Up Episode 5 Highlights

In the previous episode, the same accident happened during Theia’s performance, and this made Captain Jung-woo realize that it was intentional. Unfortunately, the man who purposely broke the stage light disappeared fast before Jung-woo arrived.

Furthermore, other senior members of Theia try to calm Jung-woo down and assures him that it is an accident. Nevertheless, he secretly investigates the accident from two years ago and the people involved in installing the stage lights.

Despite the incident, Theia celebrated the success of the joint rally at Bae Young-woong’s bar. Their fun and bright atmosphere then changed when Soo-il brings out the incident again and provokes Jung-woo again.

“But cheerleading gave me the spite to hold out.”

On the other hand, Do Hae-yi still shows her bright energy despite her near-death experience. She then has a short conversation with Youn-woong, who is offering her to terminate their contract since the joint pep rally has ended.

Hae-yi refused his offer not solely because of money but because cheerleading has now gradually given her more purpose. Hae-yi became curious about her senior after knowing that Young-woong was not born with a silver spoon.

During his days as Theia’s squad member, he revealed that he also juggles work, studies, and training. When asked how he was able to do that, Young-woong expressed that cheerleading gave him strength and inspiration to work hard in life.

“What’s wrong with me? Do I have heart arrhythmia?”

With her senior’s encouraging words, Hae-yi is more determined to continue to be part of Theia despite the threats she has been receiving. Subsequently, she also decided to join their field trip and take a break from working.

Coincidently, Captain Jung-woo and Hae-yi still have to finish some of their personal agendas and decided to follow the other members to the venue together. During their travel, Hae-yi dozes considering that she works in different sideline jobs.

As Hae-yi leaned her head on Jung-woo’s shoulder, he felt a spark and his heart fluttered. He then denies this feeling and acted normally in front of Hae-yi.

When the two arrived at the venue, Hae-yi admires the stars first before heading to the meet-up place. As an astrophysics student, Jung-woo points out and names different stars to Hae-yi.

Moreover, Sun-ho saw the two which broke his heart. With that, he wasn’t able to enjoy their field and overthinks Jung-woo and Hae-yi’s possible relationship.

“What’s this accident from two years ago?”

As Theia’s members and alumni enjoy the night, gossip, envy, and bad-mouthing ruin their celebration. First, gossip about Tae Cho-hee spreads about her being called a ‘cheer call girl.’

She knows that her rugby ex-boyfriend spread this because of their unresolved argument about their relationship. Also, Sun-ho caught a student, Song Ho-min, who was secretly taking pictures of him and Hae-yi.

When Hae-yi recognized him, he immediately fled and posted a video about Theia. The clip contains gossip and theories about the 3 Prophecies that the team received.

It also suggests Hae-yi was receiving many threats, making her the possible member who will die based on the prophecy. The clip also made the new members confused about the accident from two years ago but Young-woong finally revealed it to them.

Cheer Up Episode 5 Musings

Captain Jung-woo and Hae-yi’s love story continue to build up in the recent episode of the series. However, I can’t help but also feel heartbroken for Sun-ho.

He has proven that he is serious about Hae-yi, and despite knowing that he might lose, he continues to make Hae-yi feel appreciated and loved. Sun-ho also persists to protect Hae-yi from the threats and does not back down from his ‘fight’ with Jung-woo.

Additionally, more clues about the person behind Theia’s misfortunes gradually surface in this episode. After Ho-min posted the clip, it is now possible that he might be affiliated with the mastermind.

This episode also revealed that the accidents that Yoo-min experienced were intentional after hearsay about her spread in Yonhee. Rumors about her disappearance since the accident was also cleared after she finally showed up.

Now that Yoo-min, Jung-woo’s first love, showed up, will his feelings resume to lean toward Hae-yi, or will he pursue his first love? Also, will this cause more uproar, and will Yoo-min be the key to finding answers to Theia’s misfortunes?
