Cheer Up Episode 14 Highlights

“I liked Hae-yi. I was going to steal her from you, to be honest. And I was confident that I could. I think it’s right that I stop here.”

Since the hospitalization of Sun-ho’s mom, Jung-woo and Hae-yi finally got time to catch up. At first, Hae-yi noticed how worried Jung-woo looks and asked if something is bothering him.

Since Jung-woo secretly investigates the culprit behind the threats, he reassures Hae-yi and promised to tell her when it’s all sorted out. Furthermore, he changes the topic and asked what happened yesterday.

Hae-yi was about to tell him about Sun-ho’s mom’s condition, but she decided not to tell Jung-woo to respect Sun-ho’s private matters. Instead of suspecting and being overly jealous, Jung-woo understands and trusts Hae-yi’s reason for not telling him about what has happened.

Hae-yi’s mom then arrived with Sun-ho and invited Jung-woo to join them for dinner. During their meal, Jung-woo found himself in an awkward situation since Jae-yi, calls Sun-ho “brother-in-law” instead of him.

After their dinner, Jung-woo and Sun-ho left together and Jung-woo invited Sun-ho for another drink, which Sun-ho gladly accepted. This time, Sun-ho expressed his feelings toward Hae-yi, but he assures Jung-woo that he will stop pursuing Hae-yi — for now.

“You’re right. Ha-jin is pretty and impressive. She’s someone I respect. But I’m not going to worry about what my boyfriend’s ex was like. In the past, I would’ve been jealous. And I would’ve thought I was lacking in comparison. But there are some people who love me for who I am.”

The next day, Hokyung’s Cheerleading Captain, Lee Ha-jin visited Theia and inform them about a TV show that wants to do a documentary of the 2019 Hokyung-Yonhee Rivalry and sponsor it. Vice Captain Cho-hee was skeptical about this since the offer will only greatly be beneficiary on Ha-jin’s reputation.

She then made a deal that Theia will accept the broadcasting company’s invitation if all the funds will go to their team. Surprisingly, Ha-jin agreed and the rest of Theia members also agreed upon hearing the announcement.

The documentary captures both the two rival cheering group’s everyday routines. Furthermore, the production team tries to build tension between Captain Jung-woo’s ex, Ha-jin, and his current girlfriend, Hae-yi.

To emphasize the story they want to tell, the love triangle concerning Jung-woo, Hae-yi, and Ha-jin, they made an individual interview with Hae-yi. The question asked made Hae-yi uncomfortable but thankfully, Jung-woo arrived and stopped the interview as soon as Sun-ho informed him about this.

However, Hae-yi still answered the questions and expressed that she never compared herself with Ha-jin since Jung-woo loves her the way she is.

“Actually, every day is like an anniversary to me these days. Because I’m so happy every day.”

As the day concluded, Jung-woo and Hae-yi hang out at school as Hae-yi restores her energy with a cup of ramyeon. Out of the blue, they saw a couple who is celebrating their anniversary.

Jung-woo then opened up about celebrating their anniversary but he remembers that Hae-yi does not like celebrating it. Nevertheless, Hae-yi obliged to his intention. She also relays how every day is like celebrating an anniversary with him.

Despite the recent incidents, Hae-yi has never been that happy and enjoys every second with Jung-woo and training with other Theia members. As Jung-woo, escorts Hae-yi to her house, he also blurts out that he is happy every day because of Hae-yi.

Cheer Up Episode 14 Musings

Since Jung-woo and Hae-yi officially labeled their relationship, they faced many barriers that challenges their love. Nevertheless, they effortlessly overcome these challenges and showed how much they genuinely love each other.

Their relationship sets a good example for youth to follow. Through their love story, they proved that relationships that have sincerity can work out without being elaborate.

Unexpectedly at the end of the episode, Hae-yi’s happiness faded and she decided to end her relationship with Jung-woo. One possible reason that led her to choose this decision is that maybe her mother just found out that she has an illness after her check-up.

Also, breaking up with Jung-woo might be the only way to prevent Hae-yi from hurting Jung-woo and to avoid failed expectations. Moreover, I hope Jung-woo will fight for their relationship and won’t end it easily.

Correspondingly, Jung-woo’s investigation continues and he is now starting to have uncertain feelings about Jin-il. Additionally, the recent episode showed that Jin-il felt remorse for a while and called an ambulance.

With this in mind, is Soo-il really dead or was he in a coma? If ever Soo-il was alive, will Jin-il properly end Soo-il’s life?
