All candidates vying for awards at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards are finally in!
The 58th Baeksang Arts Awards will be broadcast live on JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4 from 7:45 pm on May 6. It will be broadcast live digitally on TikTok.
The Baeksang Arts Awards is the one and only comprehensive art awards ceremony that encompasses TV, film, and theater. With professionalism and fairness as the top priority, rigorous screening is conducted to select candidates.
Prior to the full-scale judging, the Baeksang Arts Awards held a symposium with experts in pop culture and arts from all walks of life, including major domestic and global OTT officials, representatives of drama, entertainment, and film production companies, pop culture critics, writers, and producers.
They analyzed production trends such as rapidly changing content consumption patterns and production/disclosure methods, and discussed whether to apply screening standards.
In order to refer to various voices in the industry, a preliminary survey of 60 industry expert evaluators is conducted prior to the selection of the final candidate. The finalists were then selected by the judges for each category appointed through the Jury Recommendation Committee.
The 58th Baeksang Arts Awards cover television content provided on terrestrial, general, cable, OTT, and web from April 12, 2021 to March 31, 2022. It also includes feature films and theater plays released in South Korea.
